Leland Harris states that a group will be formed to in vestigate and test for the best pos sibilities ot placing a television translator where it will do t h e most good. It is thought the translator will be erected to receive the Reno sta tion, but some other station might be funneled in. Anyone interested is invited to attend the meeting. ' Harris said. H THINKS JM A BIG SM0TI ' Dogs Poisoned In Alturas ALTURAS A dog poisoner has been at work in Alturas the last few days. At least 13 dogs have died in the southwest section of Alturas. Darrell Rachford, Alturas chief of police, reports it is believed the poison has been placed on bones, and samples have been sent to a laboratory for analysis. Dog owners are urged to confine their dogs, and parents are cau tioned to warn their children not to pick up anything that could be the carrier of this dangerous poison. All persons are asked to watch for and to report at once any sus picious actions to the police depart ment. Vern Owens' Tree Theft Case Dropped Gurino Russo, Oakland man charged with larceny involving the alleged theft of 303 Christmas trees from a Sprague River ranch last December, was released Tuesday by District Judge D. E. Van Vactor when the court ruled that there was insufficient evidence to hold the defendant for grand jury study. The complaint charged that Kus so took the trees which rightfully belonged to the operators of the Duarte ranch.
