CBS will offer a spec devoted to en auto firm, NBC will offer specs devoted to an ou firm and a pup pet. There'll be a tubful of big stars sliding around the channels Tyrone Power, Bing C r o s o y, . Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Durante, just to tick off a few. The biggest star, however, will Fires Plague Sydney Area SYDNEY, Australia M Fanned by gale winds, hundreds of bush fires menaced Sydney suburbs to day. Hard - pressed firemen brought most under control by nightfall. Sydney's fire chief called it "the worst day of fires in the city's history." A 4-year-old girl was burned to death in a house in Rcdfern sub urb, and 12 homes were destroyed in another area. Two homes burned in nearby Waterfall before volunteers put out the blazes ring ing the town. A state of emergency was de clared through the state of New South Wales. At one point Sydney Austra lia's largest city had no fire men left to answer calls. All were fighting outbreaks. A train carrying 30.000 gallons of gasoline ran a fiery gauntlet to reach nearby Lithgow with two cars blazing. Most suburban train routes were blocked. Heart Attack Takes Judge ' COLOMBO, Ceylon M-William I.. Clark, former chief justice of U. S. courts in Germany, died yesterday of a heart attack in the central Ceylonese resort of Nu wara Eliya. Clark rocketed Into prominence in 1953 when he was told he would rot be reappointed to the German court position and then refused to go home. He was suspended and his passport picked up. Recently, the Princeton, N. J. Jurist had been on a tour of the Far East. The U. S. Embassy said final arrangements for the funeral have not been completed. r SPUTNIK RPAWN8 SONG SIOUX CITY, Iowa. (UP) Beep-bop, man, it's out of this world. Two song-writers have com posed a new tune titled "Bo My Baby, bo My Satellite. he Walter Slezak. who scales in at 260 pounds. Slezak will play Papa Ueppetto to Mickey Kooney s Pin occhio in an NBC musical devoted to the dummy with nose trouble. Pinocchio is going on at 6:30 e.a.t. just in time to ruin every body's dinner," said Slezak during a rehearsal break. He looked melancholy. Cornflakes would be more in their line. Slezak shifted his bulk and con sidered the question of satire on TV. "There isn't much spoofing of anyinmg on TV. TV is afraid. I watched a lot of TV myself last monih and I must say it was something awful. "The intimate cabaret where you can see a wnole revue is something you can t get in Amer ica, but in Europe they are every where. They spoof everything. It is ridiculous that America, one of tnc lew tree countries, doesn t have something like this. "They play to packed houses, too. And I'm sure it's something TV might learn something from. Entries are also in vited in other agricultural divi sions, the parade, community booths, or fraternal displays Generous cash prizes, cups and nbhons are offered by the com mittee. The an nual banquet and crowning cere mony for the 1957 potato queen and her court is scheduled for the grade school gymnasium at 7 p.m. Nelson Reed. Klamath Falls, chair man of the Oregon Klamath River Commission will be the guest speaker. Saturday's festivities will open with the annual parade at 11 a.m. followed by the big free barbecue at the community hall at noon. The Chiloquin Panthers will meet the Merrill Huskies at 2:30 p.m. The harvest ball is planned for : the community hall beginning at 10 p.m. Saturday when the new monarch and her court will be present. The public is invited to allend the annual dance, one of the largest of the year. Agri cultural exhibits will be open all day and there will be a continuous carnival Thursday, Friday and Saturday on Front Street. State championship competition is open in the following classes: No. 1-A, not washed, 50-pound ex hibitfirst, $50 and cup: second. $25 and third $15.
