He came to Klamath Falls in 1930, and has lived in this immed iate area since that time except for a World War II tour of duty with the U.S. Navy. He was a student at KUHS, is married, and is the father of four school age children , He was first fcppoirlted as' sher iff, and was retained in the post by general election during 1952. Prior to assuming his current dut ies he was engaged in Klamath Basin farming. Britton is affiliated with the Moose, Elks, Eagles, VFW, Legion and Kiwams, and is active in com munity sponsored undertakings. Nevada Hunt Charge Set RENO (UP) Santa Rosa busi nessman Charles Townsend was ordered today to appear before Justice of the Peace William R. Beemer Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. for ar raignment on a charge of violat ing Nevada deer hunting regulations. Townsend is free on a $500 ap pearance bond posted in Elko Juf Uce Court Oct. 22 pending trial a charge of "wilfully and un lawfully obtaining an excessive number of nonresident hunting licenses and deer tags in Reno. At the time he posted the ap pearance bond. Townsend jwas fined $100 by Elko Justice of the Peace George R. Boucher for hav ing two licenses and tags in his possession. It was the second time he had been fined in Elko Justice Court for a hunting violation. In 1953, he and six other Santa Rosa men were fined $75 each for transport ing outside of Nevada two and a half more deer than was allowed by state game regulations.
