BIEHN, U.S. Air Force aviation cadet, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roland t, Biehn, Route 2, Box 592, Klamath Falls, is presently enrolled in the primary basic observer course at Harlingen Air Force Base, Texas. The 12 - month course",' conducted by the Air Force, is designed to qualify aviation cadets in the fundamentals of elec tronics, dead reckoning, and radar navigation, as per tains to today's rapidly ad vancing field of aviation. Upon completion of his training Biehn will be com missioned as a second lieu tenant and receive the wings of observer. Savings in purchasing through timely buying and the use of the food freezer purchased by the school board this year was dem onstrated by the fact that cut up, frozen chickens were on hand for the preparation of the dinner. Also 'ncluded in the buying were birds for a dinner to be served by the girls during the student council regional conference here on Mon day and Tuesday of next week when 80 persons will be served. Some sophomores are included in the class of upperclass girls and they helped with preparation of the fried chicken, minted nears lor the salad course, chocolate eclairs tilled with almond toffee ice cream and the vegetables for their first dinner for guests. The dinner table was covered with a yellow cloth (improvised irom one ot the new tinted sheets) and was centered with autumn leaves and cornucopias overflow uig with fall fruits. www Girls helping with the work were Lou Samoles, Kathleen Colohan, Yvonne Murohv. Local Collies Set For, Show Five Klamath' Falls collies are expected to enter the one-day specialty bepch show, sponsored by the Pacific Northwest Collie Club, Inc., at the four-breed specialty show to be held on Saturday. No vember 3, at the Armory in Port land. Kathlyn McDonald, licensed Klamath Falls handler, will han die all five dogs. They will be on exhibition from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., on that day, she stated. A well-known collie breeder, Glen Twiford, from Casa. Wyom ing, will be judge, the first time he has officiated at a Pacific Northwest event. Three of the dogs are lO'i months old. They are Kay-Mac's Rock Around the Clock, owned by Con and Carole Shults; Kay-Mac's Rosie O'Grady, a winner in the recent all-breed show at - Boise, owned by Georgia McDonald, and Stormy Day O Addition, owned by 15-year-old Duane Fitzsimmons. The other two are : Kay-Mac's Country Gentleman, a three-year-old owned by Robert A. McDon ald and Mrs. McDonald's own Kay-Mac's Cindy Lou. The other three breeds In the joint show will be German Shep herd, Dachshund and Chihuahua. Missionary Union, an organization for women and young peonle. will hold meetings at the First Bap tist 'Church at the same time. A banquet for each grouo will be held Tuesday evening. Business sessions of the convention will be held at the First Baptist Church Wednesday and Thursday, October 24-25. Baptist leaders from across the nation will be present for these meetings. Dr. c. Warren, pres ident of the Southern Baptist Con- of the Women's Missionary Union also of the Southern Baptist Con vention, Waco, Texas, are to be present. Dr. John Caylor of Atlanta Geor gia, Home Mission Board Editor, will represent the Home Mission Board of the SCB. From the con vention office in Portland will be Dr. R. E. Milam, former resident of Klamath Falls and now execu tive secretary of the convention, together with C. E. Boyle, editor of the Pacific Coast Baptist, Paul McCasland, John T. Sizemore, Rev. and Mrs. R. P. Hood and others will represent the various agen cies fostered by the convention. People of the churches of the Klamath Baptist Association, host to the convention, are receiving many of the delegates in their homes. - Dr. E, M.
