ONE OF KLAMATH FALLS' FIRST LETTER carriers will re
tire from the Post Office Department October 31 after
nearly 46 years' service, Russell L. Griffith, who has been
assistant postmaster at the Klamath Falls operation since
1922, came from Portland In 1916 and was one of the two
carriers employed when city delivery was launched here.
He started his postal career as a special delivery messen
ger in Portland and was later advanced to the post of
substitute carrier, Griffith resides at 411 Oak Street end

Sets Meeting
The next regular meeting of the
Klamath Falls Quota Club will be

The ninth anniversary of the

been planned by a committee con
sisting of past presidents of the
club.
All but one of the past presi
dents are still residents of Klam
ath Falls. In charge of the pro
gram will be Alice Vitus, Cardula
Eells, Joy Rolph. Ada Sproat,
Nadine Colvin. Helen Majors,
Edith Lantz and Vera Chase.
The committee promises a sur
prise treat and urges all members
to attend.
