The group will appear under the di rection of Dr. Bruce Rodgcrs, head of the School of Music at the college. The choir Is being brought here under the sponsorship of the Meth odist Youth Fellowship. There will be no admission charge but a sil ver offering will be taken. The public is invited. . One of the most coveted honors at the College of Puget Sound Is membership in the famed Adel phian Concert choir. Adelphian membership Is limited to 35-40 voices. , . This year the annual concert tour will take the vocalists throuRh six western states, a total of 2,800 miles. They will appear in 18 con certs, two radio prpgrams and one television show. Supervisor Files For Reelection DUNSMUIR W. A. Barr,' su pervisor of District II has filed for reelection to the county board of supervisors. Barr will be seek ine his third term on the board. Supervisors elected this year will represent districts as realigned by the board to go Into effect in Feb luary, 1957. The second district will include Dunsmuir and Mount Shasta. At present. McCloud Is also represented by Barr on . the board. The second district is the most populous of the districts. Me Cloud. under the . new alignment will be in district one. Germans Okay Defense Link BERLIN ifl West Germany's Bundesrat Friday unanimously ap proved measures to ouua a Ger man armed link In the Western de fense alliance. Parliament's upper house in quick order approved 'legislation providing strong civilian controls over Bonn's military arm and then enacted the basic measure author izing the recruiting of 150.000 vol unteers, starting in two weeks. These moves completed Parlia mentary action on the rearmament program presented by Chancellor Adenauer's government. The plan won smashing approval 10 days ago In the Bundestag (lower house). . The volunteers will form the pro fessional backbone of the 500,000- man force -pledqcd by Adenauer to the Atlantic nelcnse lineup. Tar get date for reaching that total is liibu. Friday's session was the first held 'by the Bundesrat in divided Berlin. The members came here from Bonn for a symbolic" one- day meeting.- It was intended to underscore the hope for a reunited Germany- with Berlin once more its capital, ard to reassure West Berlin residents that they are not forgotten by the Bonn government. MOLER United Frets Staff Correspondent ANCHORAGE, Alaska tUP) The fur-lined pants that airmen wear at a vital radar lookout post on the fog - shrouded southwest shore of Alaska have to be shipped to them over 3600 rugged miles. They come from the "mail order house" the Air Force maintains at Hill Air Force Base near Ogden, Utah. From this same storehouse go Patrol Boys To Visit SF WEED Patrol Bovs of the Weed Elementary School will trav el to San Francisco March 23 for their annual Easter week journey, earned by their service during the school term and made possible by the school with the assistance of the Weed Lions Club. The 14 eighth grade boys, ac companied by Leno Lenzi, princi pal, and Arthur Fish and Russell Thorpe, teachers, will headquarter at. the Central YMCA on Golden Gate Avenue. Their itinerary in-1 eludes tours of the Naval Base on ! Treasure Island, the San Francisco police department and the Golden Gale Park. Future plans are for the Patrol Boys u be organized and super vised by the Weed police depart ment, with the cooperation of the school, effective for the 1956-57 term. Tillery, commander of the Ogden air materiel area, said i requisitions from Alaska com manders are filled with men and supplies as quickly as possible from stocks on hand or orders from manufacturers. At Elmendorf Air Force Base here, Lt. Gen. Joseph IL Atkinson, chief of the over-all Joint service Alaskan command said bluntly: "What we've done is make a ware house out of the airplane." When the interior support plan began operating, the Air Materiel Command depot at Elmendorf was closed and key Alaskan bases began ordering supplies directly Losses through obsolescence from Ogden. Distribution costs t.ithin the Alaskan theater have been cut by $34,000 a year. "What we're all working for," said an officer here, "Is to keep the planes flying and radar work ing throughout Alaska." The of ficers feel the new supply system is doing It's job. havf been cut, and the vulner ability of vital supply depots re duced by taking them out of this territory that la a next-door neighbor to Russian Siberia. Hill AFB also furnishes much of the specialist manpower needed in emergencies by Alaskan bases. Kadar technicians and air frames specialists who might have idle days tf they remained In Alaska are kept busy on routine overhaul and maintenance work In Utah when they are not on a mission to Alaska. Other continental air materiel areas perform similar supply func tions for other "forward" areas overseas. But, as the Alaska com mand officers point out, Alaska is a natural for air logistics empha sis because airplanes arc tha major way to get around up here. Lillian Baxter Funeral Told Funeral services V111 be held at i 2 p.m. Monday, March 19. from Ward's Klamath Funeral Home for Mrs. Lillian -. Baxter, 73. -j resident of Klamath Falls for 10 years. The family home was at 2318 Modoc Avenue. Mrs. Baxter died on March 16 following a stroke, she was a native of Buffa lo. New York. Final riles and in terment will be in Klamath Me morial Park. Survivors include her widower, William Baxter and one son, Wil liam Baxter Jr., both of this city: also one granddaughter, Joan of Long Beach, California. Mrs. Clara Brown Funeral Set ! DUNSMUIR Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Brown.. 75. of Duns- , muir will be held Saturday at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in j Dunsmuir. Burial will be In the ' Dunsmuir Cemetery. Mrs. Brown, a native of Minne sota, had lived in Dunsmuir for 37 years. She died In the Siskiyou County Hospital on March 13 fol lowing a lengthy illness.
