As one of the duties of county committee member she visits the units she represents, Altamont. Buena Vista, Conger-Fairview and the newly organized Wocus unit. Altamont officers are Mrs. Prank Peyton, chairman; Mrs. W. C. Killian, vice chairman; Mrs. M. W. Simpson, secretary and Mrs. D. B. ,Thurman, treasurer. Buena Vista officers are Mrs. Bernard Valk. chairman; Mrs. Harold Harden, vice chairman and Mrs. Glen Thomason, secretary treasurer. Coneer-Fairview officers are Mr Charles Klem, chairman; Mrs. John Mathews, vice chairman and Mrs. Gerald Gwyn, secretary-treasure.'. The Wocus unit with 20 members had its organisation meeting Jan uary 24. The group elected as their first officers Mrs. H. A. McClurg. chairman; Mrs. Robert Johnson, vice chairman; Mrs. Wayne Ne gus, secretary and Mrs. John Casson. treasurer. As home extension meetings are always open to any interested woman each of these units will welcome anyone who is new in their community. Girl Scouts Set Program DUNSM0TR Dunsmuir Girl Scouts will wind up Girl Scout Week with a special program at the elementary school auditorium on Friday, March 16, at 7 p.m. All troops will participate in the program with skits, dances, musi cal numbers and other display cf talents. Mrs. Winifred Day and Mrs. Marian Lowe are planning the program. - Other observances of Girl Scout Week will include a window dis play of handicrafts and other pro ject work hi Young's Furniture Btore. Brownie Scouts are deliver- In? cookies during the week. The srl Scouts recently held a candy sale as their money raising pro ject. The week opened with the girls attending the church of their choice in scout uniform. Sen. Knowland (R-Calif) said Saturday. "Since some of his policies as secretary of interior have been challenged, he is perhaps the ablest man to carry to the people the fight for those policies." OYER THE GARDEN GATE KLAMATH FALLS CABDEN CLIB The Klamath Falls Garden Club was called to order by the prest dent, Mrs. A. J. Dorlaque, Monday at 3 p.m. in the city library. After the business meeting Mrs. Dorlaque gave a very clever dem onstration of flowers and arrange ments made of colored Easter eggs. Mrs. Phil D. Schroeder, pro gram chairman introduced Mra. Charlotte Carmlchael and Mrs. Edith Overacker who showed col ored pictures of their recent Ha waiian vacation. . . Mrs. James Patterson and Mrs. E. M. Raymond were special guests at the meeting. Mrs. Will Wood was presented with the spe cial prize for the day. County Peace Officers Meet WEED Thirty-six members of the Siskiyou County Peace Offi cers Association met Thursday at the 99 Ranch and continued dis cussion ot the behind-the-wheel driving program in the county schools. Other discussion centered about the association's steering efforts to establish a uniform anti-gambling policy within the county and var ious municipalities and posslbill- BITE DALLAS (UP) Dallas police get the bite put on them more by peo ple than by dogs, an annual report showed today. Nine policemen were bitten by persons they arrested and one day's time from duty was lost. Dog bites totaled three with no time lost.
