Show Room Sedan Hocked A new sedan was taken from ' the showroom of Basin Motors j sometime Sunday, and driven to ' Bend, where it was abandoned. Klamath Falls police reported to day. Police said that little else was taken, although an attempt to burn open the safe failed because the torch being used ran out of gas. The only other thing taken was the money in the change box on a soft drink machine. Officers first noticed the theft when a routine patrol discovered the back door of the showroom building was open. Twenty five cents in pennies and several ball point fountain pens made up the take from another burglary - that occurred Sunday. The items were taken from the Balsiger Oil Company. The thief gained entry through a broken win dow, police said. Police said the files were rifled, and that some blank checks, im printed with the. name Balsiger Oil Company, might have been taken. And police are looking for a man who attempted to climb through the back window of Fritch's Bak ery at Seventh and Walnut at about 2:23 p.m. Sunday. Louis Fritch, operator of the bakery, told officers that when he heard the, man ollmblng through the window, he asked the man what he was doing. "He's after me with a gun and I'm trying to get away," the man reportedly replied. Fritch told offi cers he seemed "doped up or half drunk." BOB ROBERTSON is one of the outstanding highlights or ihe OJJ Show slated for Mills auditorium on March 15. Robertson's specialty is a difficult tap routine on skates. He said he had sent telegrams to 35 Oregon stations, warning that from now on the Republican party would check the broadcasts to determine whether' they are paid political programs or public-service broadcasts.
