Lanaell Valley Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Nnrlt and son of Bly and Joe Norlc of Klamath Falls spent the weekend In Langell Valley with their parents, the Ben Norks. Also visiting here that weekend with the Don Jones and the Lewis Jones was a third son, Jerry Jones, who is sta tioned in San Francisco with the Navy. In Traction Susan Ravizza, Chil oouin. who was injured in an auto mobile accident in late December and scent six weekJ in a Bend hospital, had to undergo a second operation on her broken leg tnree weeks ago and will be in traction another five or six weeks. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Har ry Ravizza and a pie-nursing soph omore at the University of Oregon. Her family spent Sunday In Bend visiting her. Red Cross Classes The two Red Martin Gift of Langell Valley is visiting his wife. Donna, a senior at Oregon State College. Jerry Mi t'artie has returned to his home near Bonanza after two weeks at Hillside Hospital. Water Safety Program Told A "Water Safety" program will be presented at the March 7 meet ing of the Interagency Council to be held at noon at the YMCA. Speeches will be limited to a few minutes for each topic. Bob Bonney, chairman, will introduce the speakers and their subjects. Virginia Dixon, secretary of the Klamath County Red Cross Chap ter will talk on "What Is the Wa ter Safety Program of the Ameri can Red Cross. Its Objectives, Program Elements and Facilities." Mav Myers, water safety chair man for the Red Cross county1 chapter will evaluate the profrram of the Klamath Basin on the basis of certification if lifeguards, in structors, the program, giving sta tistics. Naomi French will speak for Camp Fire Girls on "Camping Standards and Methods for Water Safety." Jim Harpole for the Boy Scouts will talk on "The Boy Scouts Aquatic Program and Wa ter Safety Standards at Camp." Paul Campbell or Bill Cornell will appear for the Young Men's Christian Association to outline the YMCA acquatlc program. Ella Rcdkcy, in charge of the munici pal swimming pool will summarize and review the local water safety and swimming program. KF Escapee - -Nabbed In Eugene Jack Gordon, . 34-year-old con struction worker, who was con victed here of rape, was captured in Eugene a short time after his escape from" Oregon State Hospital, the Associated Press reported Tuesday. Cordon was arrested In a resi dential district of Eugene after several persons reported a prowler in the area. Gordon was talien to the hospi tal for psychiatric examination af ter his conviction by a Jury in Cir cuit Judge David R. Vandenberg's court. He Is reported to have fled with another hospital inmate. The es cape was made through a laundry chute. Mr. Neva Grohs slipped and fell at her ranch home in Upper Langell Valley and broke her right arm. Visiting last week with the Mike Dearborns and Les Leavitts in Langell Valley were Mr. and Mr. Louis Stork of Simi. California. They are prospective residents. Annual Meeting of the Langell Valley Soil Conservation District will be held In the community hall Friday. March . starting with a 6:30 p.m. potluck dinner. First Presbyterian Church pastor in Merrill has returned from his recent trip to San Anselmo, Cali fornia. While there, he examined candidates for the ministry at the Presbyterian Theological College. Attend Meeting Mrs. Ted Gor don and Mrs. .George Milne, both of Merrill, attended a Sunday School teachers' meeting held recently in Malin. Ross Ragland. minister of the Malin Presbyterian Church, talked on "Why Am I Teaching." Mrs. Gordon and Mis. Milne dem onstrated use of visual aids In Sunday School. Ragland Is chil dren's work adviser for Presbytery and Mrs. Milne is children's work adviser for Presbyterial. Bly Patrons Hear Panel BLY A simulated radio panel discussion was presented at the March 1 meeting of Parents and Patrons by delegates to the count)1 speech festival. Those taking part in the conser vation of wildlife discussion were Larry Robin. Jack Dillavou. Jeff and Btan Tecumseh. Also on the program were Betty Jo Pauke, poetry, and Irene Womach, story telling. Problems of - continuing the ac tivity of the. Cub Scouts w ere dis cussed bv Principal James chance. This organization of boys from eight to 11 years has been spon sored by the Parents and Patrons group. The charier expired in Feb ruary of this year, but with co operation of the parents, the Cub Scouting program can again be come an active force in the com munity, Chance said. A short devotional read by Joan Bingham closed the meeting. Re freshments were served by the teachers. The next regular meeting will be held April 6. Bly HS Students To Present Play BLY The annual junior-senior class play, a comedy entitled Skinned Alive," will be presented on Tuesday. March 27. It was necessary to postpone the presen tation from March 6 because of the Illness of two members of the cast which Includes six girls and six boys. Correction It was erroneously reported In an account of the death of David Smith Troy, manager of the Klamath Falls branch 01 Wey erhaeuser Timber Company, that Mrs. Mary Mcintosh was a sur viving sister. Mrs. Mcintosh is the daughter of Mr. Troy. The body ot the limber company official has been taken to Lewiston, Idaho, for burial. Naturalization The naturaliza tion ceremonies for new citizens originally scheduled for Wednes day at 2 D.m. in Klamath County Courthouse circuit courtroom has been changed to 10 a.m. on that day. The ceremony is being spon sored by the DAV Dewey Powell Unit No. 12. Judge David R. Van denberg will preside at the ceremony.
