Do not peel stamps from the license since damaged stamps are worthless. USHIKMKN DROWN SHIMONOSEKI, Japan W Thirty-three Japanese fishermen were believed drowned Wednesday after a violent storm in the Yellow Sea. Three fishing boats were sunk. Press reports said only two men from one crew and one from another had been saved. under the leadership of any church. In both concept and execution the series of 13 films entitled "The Way" represents a significant step in organized religion's growing consciousness of the TV medium. The series shuns preaching. Is nondenominatlonal In Its appeal, and Is solely concerned with dram atizing various aspect of Christian principles of living. OKKKKEI) FREE The series is offered free to any TV station anywhere with only these provisions: They will be shown in specified sequence at any desired regular weekly time ex cept an hour that might Interfere with church attendance. There shall be no commercial In con nection with them not even a "Co to church." The first drama. "An Eya for an Eye," was shown here last Saturday afternoon on the ABC network a local station. Distin guished by superior acting, It told this story: A gang ot hoys wreck a church recreation room. The minister, a calm, strong man, loses an eye when the boys gang up on him as he tries to restore order. The po lice regard the boya as "wild ani mals" who cannot be tamed; to fall to prosecute them, the police maintain, Is to turn their viclous ness loose on society. Bu' the min ister opposes prosecution. At hla request the boya are released in probation in nis custody, me i.u ures and the success are delin eated In down-to-earth fashion. CONVICTION A viewer Is left with the con viction that the answer to delin quency is no simple matter. One seos the power of the gang over its members. But the strong In fluence of people who care Is shown in a most convincing man- ne. It's not a subtle story. But It gives a feeling of reality in sharp contrast to many TV "religious" dramas which leave one with a roactlon ol unreality and sentimen tality. In no formal sense Is It preaching. But It is the best kind of preaching in the sense that what one is and does speaks more clear ly than any words. Through the excelent characterizations of the minister and his wile there flows a strong practical Idealism. mi vTT GREAT 3$ BUFFALO HUNT! l hunlm and an BT"NMtaZI Indian girl! STAMPEDE!
