ORKf.ON PAGE FTVR Southwest Air Link Under Study Southwest Airlines Vice Presl dent Max Kin; Is planning a trip to Klamath Falls within the next 30 days to study the passible route extension of its line from Redding to Klamath Falls, reported R Frank Tucker, Klamath County Chamber of Commerce, at the regular meeting of the chamber directors Wednesday noon in the Winema Hotel. The original request for the route extension was made in March. 1955 before the Civil Aero nautics Board in Washington. D C. At this same pre-hearinc United Air Lines asked fur deletion of Klamath Falls from its route. The CAB is reportedly planning a Washington. D.C. hearins to de cide the two requests within the next two months. If XJAL discontinues its Klamath Falls service and Southwest takes over, the air route south would In. elude stops at Redding, Red Bluff, Chico, Marysville, Sacramento and Oakland. Another branch of South west already services Yrcka and Medford. The route north from Klamath Falls would continue to be served by West Coast Airlines. February 21 that West Coast has asked the CAB for authorization to establish new routes connecting Southwestern Oregon and Southern Idaho with Nevada and California. Tiie proposed rouios are between Klnmath Falls and Reno; between Reno and Winnemucca, Nevada; between Reno and Salt Lake City via Elko, Nevada, and between Reno and Los Angeles-Burbank, California, y way of Fresno and Bakersfield, California. In further business the chamber directors heard a report from Truman Runyan, chairman of the civic affairs committee, on the proposed $300,000 sewerage bond issue approved by the city council this week. The bond Issue will be placed on the May 18 primary bal lot for action by the voters of the city.
