Mike O'Hair, John Weber, Photo by Bill Milne Omega Rho Chapter BSP DUNSMUIR The newly Insti tuted Omega Rho Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority of Dunsmuir staged a "come as you are" meeting at the home of Jean Butcher last week. Juanlta Lewis, social chairman, arranged the event. Spring rushing and a "doughnuts and coffee" sale were among the coming events discussed at the meeting. Diana McClelland, presi dent, conducted the business meet ing. The evening's cultural pro gram was given by Rose Ellis, program chairman and service committee chairman. The new chapter was formed In December with nine charter mem bers being initiated at a formal ceremony at the home of Margaret Petrovics. Members of Kappa Phi chapter conducted the initia tion and Betty Kelby accepted the post of member adviser to the new chapter. Omega Rho's initial project was the making of Christmas wreaths; a successful venture, It was re ported. . Officers of the new chanter are Diane. Main club project for 1956 is the building of a permanent clubhouse stage for home talent productions now given In the club dining room, where a temporary stage has ato be constructed for each play. Routine standing committee re ports were heard, and the meet ing was adjourned. During the social hour which fol lowed, refreshments were served by Mrs. Dan Brown and her moth er. The white cloth covered refreshment tables were decorated in the New Year motif with clever and orig inal arrangements representing var ious holidays and special events of each month of the past club year. Eddie Graltan gave a baby shower at the Randall home, January 20. in honor of Mrs. Harry Noble of Langell Valley. Contests and games were played early In the evening. Mrs. Wlllard Noble helped her daughter-in-law open the gifts. Little Meredith Randall wheeled In a decorated doll-buggy filled with some of the gifts, while Mrs. Seater played "Rock A Bye Baby" on the piano. DUNSMUIR A baked bean supper partv was given Saturday night by Kappa Phi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority of Duns muir at the Espiscopal Guild Hall. Omega Rho chapter members were Invited to the party and hus bands were also included. Esther Whalen, social chairman, planned: tho event. Margaret Petrovics headed the food committee and Rosemary Dabovlch, the decora tion committee. Music, dancing and games provided entertainment. At the last meeting of Knppa Phi 2fi wa voted to 'the Tonv Welch fund and members voted to match their indivudal contri butions with fluids from the treas ury to make up a donation to the Beta Sigma Phi chapters ,in the flood-stricken areas. About $60 is the anticipated total of this pro posed donation.
