Three Get Jail Terms Three probation violators were sentenced here Thursday afternoon by Circuit Judge Ralph M. Hoi- man of Oregon City. One of the delendants was given five years in Oregon State Prison md the other two drew one-year county Jail sentences. Edward Jensen, described by police, as an inveterate bogus check passer, was already under a three-year sentence In the state prison when appearing before Judge Holman. While on probation granted In Klamath County a year ago, Jen sen was sentenced to prison from Lane County where he pleaded guilty to a check charge. "You nave had everv possible chance." the Judge told Jensen, "your probation Is revoked and you are sentenced to serve five years In the state prison." William O. Stalmer. 38-year-old automobile salesman, who was re turned here from San Diego as a probation violator, was given a year In Jail. He orginolly was ar rested for cashing spurious checks here. The third probation violator was Robert W. Nlckelson. 38-year-old ranch worker. He left the state without permission of the court and also associated with a woman oth er than his wife. CAUALLI Christian Endeavor Youth Week Events Announced Alturas Council Seats Available ALTURAS Three seats on the Alturas City Council are to be filled at the April 10 election. In cumbents, James Reid, mayor, James .Maher and Harry Pinneo have stated they will not seek re election. February 18 Is the deadline for filing nominations. In Modoc County general elec tion on June 5, there will be three supervisors and the superior Judge to be elected. Superior Judge A K. Wylie has announced he will seek reelection. March 20 is deadline for filing. the Moore, Conger Ski Tows To Operate City Recreation Director Bob Bcnney announced Saturday that the Moore Park and Conger Hill ski tows will operate Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Bonnev also said streets set aside for sledding will be under supervision from 10 a m to 8 p.m. both days. Guards will be on duty on Manzanlta, wilford and Wash ington streets. Norris Plans Store Opening DUNSMUIR Clarence Norris, formerly of Project City, will open a new downtown grocery store in Dunsmuir early next month. He has leased half nf the building tormeny occupied by Mac s Mar ket which Francis McEnernev va cated when he transferred his busi ness to a new supermarket In north Dunsmuir. Norris stated his new will be a family affair with his wile and daughter helping him. He will handle the meat cutting de partment and there will be self service delicatessen case, frozen foods, fresh vegetables and a com plete line of groceries and dries. Ed Romlln. 1330 Klamath Ave. nue, said that two hubcaps were taken from his auto recently. Paul Frei, 3200 Crest, reported the theft ot a spare tire and wheel from his auto. He said the theft occurred about a month ago. Edward W. Alexander, 1525 Division, reported an outside mirror was taken from his auto Monday night.
