Photo by Mrs. Sheldon Brumbaugh Kenneth Jensen, son of ,LMr Jensen, director of bands at Klam ath Union HlRh School, has been selected to piny the oboe In the Golden Jubilee National High School Orchestra to be presented in St. Louis, March 12-11 in ob servance of the 50th anniversary of the Music Educators' National Association. The national orchestra will be conducted by Thor Johnson, per mnnent conductor of the Cincin nati Symphony Orchestra. This or chestra of 150 members was screened and selected first In each district and then by state com mittees and ' later by a national committee. Only students who have indicated superior talent and abil ity on their respective instruments are selected. The 'orchestra will rehearse un der Thor Johnson before climaxing their Intensive training with a con cert In the Kiel Municipal Auditorium. A cellist from Salem High School has also been invited to participate. Chandler meant business when he said recently state-owned ve hicles were to be used for business only. Yesterday he ordered State Police to stop any state-owned ve hicles they see on the highways at night and on Sunday. Drivers of the vehicles presumably state employes would be asked to explain to their superiors why the vehicles were in use.
