Undaunted by snow and icy roads, 812 people turned out at the fairgrounds auditorium Bun day to hear Nicholas Kovalak Jr. declare In the widely adver tised Blblo lecture. "Overcoming the Fears of This Generation," "that the number, variety and Intensity of the fears which beset this generation are enormous. there Is the lear of neighbor, po litical systems, wars, insecurity disease, death, the fear of the atom, hydrogen, cobalt and per haps now the uranium bomb." He then proceeded to show that neither the politicians nor the United Nations or even the clergy can dispel this climate of fear The U.N. holds no remedy, but fear and doubt hold permanent seats In the United Nations Or ganization. " he added. Mr. Kovalak pointed out from the Bible that the main cause of all these fears Is Satin the Devil. Accurate knowledge of God's Word, faith and perfect love of God and right principles are the prime essentials for overcoming the fears of this generation," he emphasized. Rather than be paralyzed bv the tear that this earth may be de stroyed by thermonuclear weapons men should fear what the Great Creator, Jehovah God can and will do by his great Battle of Armaged don, when the wicked and all their wickedness will be forever wiped off tho face of the earth, even fear will be done away with." So ho encouraged all, Irrespec tive of their religious beliefs to itudy. not only read. God's Word the Bible, the only true source of hope and comfort. Honest hearted persons must learn Ihe reasons for these fears and learn to relv on the promises of Jehovah, then tell oth ers, as Christians should, out of love. Following the public discourse was a summary of the Dec. 1, 1955 "Watchtower" magazine by Roger Lewis of Grants Pass, covering the lesson. "Avoidance Inside the Cities ol Uptime." Expressions by delegates of Ore son Circuit No. 1 who attended Ihe 1PS5 "Triumphant KiiiRdoni Assemblies" held In London. Palis. Rome. Nuremberg, Stockholm and ino Hague, were highlighted bv color motion pictures and slides These European convention expres sions were conducted by Lawrence Kraushaar. convention chairman. The final session of the "Right Kind of Ministers" circuit Assem bly of Jehovah's Witnesses was concluded by the discourse, "Keep Your Balance In All Things" bv Nicholas Kovalak. Mr. Kovalak pointed out "that dedication to do the will of Jehovah, the Almighty God. is the hichest and noblest of human ambitions. It Is the course which must be followed bv all to gam everlasting life in God's promised New World of righteous-ne.-is. All the Witnesses were en couraged on returning to their re spective congregations to continue their ministerial training and preaching; helping others to over come the fears of this generation through study of the Bible, as the right kind ol ministers." A resolution to convey Ihe ap preciation of the Witnesses for the excellent fan ground facilities fori this convention was adopted. Con vention chairman, Lawrence Krau shaar, was delegated to make this expression to fairground officials. Local officials were amazed at tho organization of this conven tion, each department was staffed by competent ministers all work ing together In love and unity. 1 The Witnesses with their lapel badges were becoming a familiar sight in the city as they went about their preaching activity and shopping expeditions in the down town stores between convention sessions. Jehovah's Witnesses appreciate the hospitality of the citizens and businessmen of Klamath Falls that was extended to them during this "Right Kind of Ministers" Circuit Assembly.' They hope to return to this city again in the future for similar conventions. I I DENNIS THE MENACE" SET 'that 'never hit a girl: stuff e gouhagetmb koedi m Have you had any changes recently?
