Rre Destroys Red Embassy OTTAWA (UP) A battle raged today over the undiplomatic be havior of a group of Russians toward Canadian firemen attempt ing to fight a fire that ruined the Soviet embassy. The Russians accused Ottawa fire fighters of using Inefficient methods and defective equipment in fighting the 1250,000 blaze that gutted the 19th century, three story mansion Sunday night. No one was injured. Ottawa's woman Mayor Char lotte Whitton countered that the Russians hampered the firemen and vowed to bring the matter before the Canadian Parliament vhen It reconvenes next- week. Mayor Whitton also called for a special conference to decide once and for all the powers of firemen fighting blazes on diplomatic prop erty. Only the walls of the stone and brick mansion were left standing'. The fire was believed to Aave started on the floor housing the emDassy s coding and communica Hons section. Fire Chief John D.
