(UPWThe town ot Gettysburg will sing a Merry Christmas salute to Presi dent Elsenhower in the town square tonight, but the president will miss his neighbors' Yuletide greetings. Because of bis doctors' orders to slow down lor a while, Mr. Elsenhower Is accepting no out side social invitations lor the rest of this week. Mr, Elsenhower also Is keeping his work to a ' minimum. He planned brief conferences with hi staff today but otherwise will spend his time resting and walk ing; around his farm. Gettysburg has decorated Lin coln Square In the center of town with a colorful Christmas scene that includes a "Santa Shanty" where St. Nicholas arrives during the evening. The idea that the President mitfht be a participant in the Christmas celebration started when Leroy E. Smith, vice presi dent of the Gettysburg Chamber of Commerce, wrote Presidential Press Secretary Hagerty on Dec. : 'The combined choirs of Gettys burg will sing a Merry Christmas salute to President and Mrs. Els enhower, the White House press secretary and his wife, and the White House press corps at 7:30 o clock Thursday evening. Decem ber 15th. in front of the Hotel Gettysburg. Lincoln Square. The salute is an expression of our ap preciation for the world-wide rec ognition ail of you havft given Gettysburg," lodge. Installing officer was Charles S. Hogan, past master of McCloud Lodge 430 and inspector of Masonic District 106. Percy Lindt, past mas ter ot tne McCloud lodge, was mast er of ceremonies. Other officers installed were Mar tin W. Little, senior warden; Win ."ton S. Williams, junior warden; Clarence W. Collins, treasurer; Sherman Spangle, chaplain: Mich ael Klepach, senior deacon; Bruce Ewer, Junior deacon: Joseph D. Scribner Jr., marshal: John Booth, senior steward; Aaron Thomas jun ior steward. Daniel Ooins was. Installed for the 3rd time as tlier. David Johnson will be Installed aa secretary at a later date. Mrs. William Davis was pianist for the evening. Others on the pro gram were Mrs. Edwin Htckey, vocal solo; Sandra Flock, piano solo; Linda Bagley, accordion solo. Buffer refreshments served to the log persons attending were planned by the Junior past master and Mrs, Scribner and were served by the Mount Shasta Bethel 130, Interna' tlonal Order of Job's Daughters. Mrs. R, G.
