DECEMBER 8, 1955 Here Comes The Bride With A Colored Bouquet And Lipstick To Match The "something w" the holi day bride will wear to the altar it a bouquet of color, as modern as a Modigllant rose. Introduced for the holidays by the Florists- Telegraph Delivery Association are bouquet "rranae menls sounding these fresh color notes: yellow ulw? P01?" roses as yellow as that rose of Texas; lavender or lime-colored Fujlmums; purple-hearted orchids. Noting this development with a trained color eye, Max Factor Jr suggests these lipstick match malls lor the bride's brighter bou- "Suppose, says the Hollywood ex pert your flowers are lime-colored ' pujimums Japanese beauties as shaggy as your pet Kerry Blue your best choice of lipstick shade is a rich ruby red. If the Pujimums are lavender, or your bouquet 1 a snowlall of purple-hearted orchids, wear a true party pink shade of lipstick. Color-keyed to either the pale lav. endcr flowers or to the hearts of orchids. It will make as sensa tional a match at the altar, says Factor, as yours and the groom's! If your bouquet is a round nose gay of yellow button pompons or a spray of yellow roses, wear a gold en flnme shade of lipstick. For pink roses, of course, a match between bouquet and lip slick shade can be. made that looks as though cosmetician and florist had turned match-maker. Or you can make your mouth more of a magnet than your flowers by wearing a deeper lipstick shade, say. a crushed rose pink. Before your lipstick goes on, of course. Factor suggests using a make-up foundation in what he calls a "pick-up pink shade," meaning a pink that accentuates your own flesh tones. A foundation, he says, will do for your make-up that's to come what a primer does for a painting. Make-up that's to come? Lip stick, of course. SLEIGH BELLES 1 package angel food mix (17 oz. package) 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 1-3 cups chopped nuts Wk cups shredded coconut, fine ly cut i cup finely chopped dates Prepare angel food mix as di rected on package. Divide batter into 3 parts. Into one part of the batter, fold chocolate chips and 1 cup of the nuts. -Into second part, fold coco nut. Into remaining batter, fold dates and remaining nuts. Drop mixtures by tablespoons onto greased and floured balling sheet. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) about 12 minutes. When done, remove at once from baking sheet. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
