Riley, Nashville, Tennessee, immediate past president of the American As sociation of University Women. News of Dr. Riley's appointment was received Tuesday by Mrs. Frederick B. Ehlers, president of the Klamath Falls AAUW Branch. The 12 members of this U.S. Com mission on Government Security were appointed by President Eisen hower, Vice President Richard-Nixon and House Speaker Sam Ray burn. Dr. Riley's appointment was made by Vice. President Nixon, nt the suggestion of Senate majority leader Lyndon Johnson. Dr. Riley has been a member of the Citizens Advisory Council for the Foreign Operations Adminis tration. She ii a professor of English at George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville and served as national AAUW presi dent from 1951 to 1S55. King's Men Club Holds Breakfast LAKE VIEW Twenty-five mem bers of the Presbyterian King's Men Club, met for a 7 o'clock breakfast on Sunday, December 4 at the Educational Hall. The group agreed to donate labor for the completion of upstairs classrooms in the Educational Hall, and a night work schedule was made. Woman Found Cut In Hotel Room Pearl Ray, 39, was treated early this morning at Klamath Valley Hospital for bruises and a gash on the right side of her Jaw after she was found in a room at a hotel by Klamath Falls Po lice. Police said they received a call at 3:30 a.m. and found the woman fully conscious on a bed in the hotel room. She did not say who had inflicted the cuts, police said. OIL REFINERY DAMASCUS, Syria, (IP) Russia has offered Syria a complete oil refinery. Informed circles said Tuesday. The offer was made by the Soviet ambassador here who said Russia's price would be cheap er than anyone else's, the sources said. The Moose committee will obtain list of needy children in the Tulelake, Merrill and Malin areas. Then on Christmas Eve, the Moose will deliver all of the toys col lected. All residents of the Tule lake Basin are urged to help make this campaign a huge . success.
