of the death of a former Klamath
Falls resident. Mrs. John Wolf
rum, November 27 at her home In
Kalispell. Montana. She left Klam
ath Falls about six years ago. A
stepson. Free' Wolfrum. 4305 Alta
mont Drive survives. She was 75
years old.

ing 25,000 Marines, 20,000 Navy

The exercise was held on the Pa
cific Coast near Camp Pendleton,
California. American ships were
supplemented by ships of the Roy
al Canadian Navy.

Begins Monday
A preliminary hearing for Bll-
lle Richardson, 20-year-old Bend
logger.- charged with rape, Is set
for Monday at 10 a.m. in District
Judge D. E. Van Vactor's court.
The logger, accused of ravishing
a 36-year-old Klamath Falls house
wife, was arrested Wednesday in
Roseburg by Deputy Sheriff Del
Summers.
According to - District Attorney
Richard Beesley, Richardson was
a guest in the home of the wom
an he Is alleged to have attacked.
The attack was supposed to have
occurred after the alleged victim's
husband was called out in the night
to go to . work.
As soon as he was booked at
the county Jail. Richardson, who
claims he has been "framed," re
tained the legal firm' of McKay
and Fanner of Bend to represent
him. He refused to make a state
ment to the district attorney. . .
Garden Clubs, will present two
lectures and demonstrations, at
10:30 and 1:30, in the Altamont
gym.
Lunch will be served at Juan s
Kitchen at the fairgrounds. Guests

Shooting Fray Jails Worker
