Couple Tours Eastern States The 45th wedding anniversary year of Mr. and Mrs, C. W. Switzler, 3023 Bartlett Avenue, was marked with a month's travel trip leisurely touring the eastern states. On their way east, they stopped for visits with their son, Jerry, stationed at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; and daughter, Mrs. Earl Welsh Jr., and family, New Water ford, Ohio. Later they were met by their son and daughter In St. Louis, Missouri . and after a short sightseeing tour, left by auto with the Welsh's for the east where the itinerary covered historical or tourist spots in Washington, D.C. Pennsylvania, Virginia, etc. They traveled 10,000 miles In all: and toured 20 states and parts of Canada. The couple went to and from St. Louis by train the central route from the wesf. and the northern route on tne re turn trip. Pocahontas Wabeno Council WEED The election of a new member, Mrs, Esther Aquila, and the acceptance of an affiliate, Mrs. Russell Thorpe, into the degree of Pocahontas, was conducted at the reeular : meeting of Wabeno Coun cil 231,,. held. Friday night Octo ber 21. -Plans for their Initiation November 4 were arranged by the council with Mrs. Al coot presid ing. A correction announcement was made to Include the name of Mrs. Ursla Dooley, Yreka, who assisted with the local drill team performance at the official visit of the great Pocahontas to the Wabeno Council, October 7. . Ray Holder was awarded, the delegate prise for the evening meeting. " Halloween was the theme of the evening social after the adjourn ment and secret pal gifts were exchanged by the members. Games of carda provided the en tertainment. Halloween decor was used on the refreshment tables; and the hostesses, Mrs. Orvllle Renning, Mrs. Ace Hildrcth and Mrs. Holder served refreshments. 0V ! ANGELINA PASTESA finds it easy to smile at the recent shower given in her honor by hostesses Mrs. Otto Sari, Mrs. Pat Ryan (Mrs. Sari's daughter!; Eva Green and Car mella Ongaro. Mrs. Pastega, who is known for her ready smile, is holding one of the many shower gifts brought by the 60 guests who came to fete their friend, whose marriage to John Vogel is planned for the near future in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Vogel has been with the Klamath Forest Protective Association for about 20 years; win tering in Klamath Falls as fire warden out of the KFPA office; and during the summers he's head man for KFPA at King's Cabin, approximately 30 miles northeast of Chiloquin. The gifts, food and decor were lavish at the shower for Mrs. Pastega, who has lived In Klamath Falls for some 30 years where she and her family have been identified in the grocery business. Mrs. Johnnie Pastega, her daughter-in-law, registered the gift cards; and the buffet table was as varied in color as it was in choice range of unusual exotic dishes and dressed-up domestic baked ham, etc. The symbolic cake, frosted in white, and topped with gold inter-locked wedding rings of frosting set with candy jewels, was made by Eva Green who also included on the cake,' at opposite sides, the names "Johnny" and "Angelina."
