Rotary To Hold Ladies Night DUNSMUIR November was net as the date for Rotary Ladles Night by the Dunsmuir Rotary Club at its luncheon meeting Wednesday. The event featuring dinner and entertainment will be gin at 7 p.m. at the Dunsmuir Hotel. Robert Duclaw. Robert Ke noyer and William Murphy were appointed as a special committee for this event. Church Women ild Fund LAKEV1EW Members of the Presbyterian Women's Society earned over $500 for their annual Experience Social, announced Mrs, C. W. Julier, president. Every fall, each member invests one dollar and at the annual so cial turns in her profits with an account of the way she earned her money. One member told how she bought 1 worth of cake. Ingredients and started on her cake making busi ness: another sold her homemade candy and a foursome cooked spe cial dinners. -One woman earned her money by painting window sills in her house herself Instead of paying a painter. A generous check was given by another who said she had decided to give $5 for each of her bless ings but she found she had so many she had to set a SI limit. A large percentage of the money will be used for the church's build ing fund, said Mrs. Julier, irl Scout Meeting Held WEED Mrs. Dysart Ecribner assumed the duties of town chair man for the Girl Scout organiza tions of Weed at a meeting of the leaders and committee chairmen of Girl Scouts and Brownies on November 2 at Weed Court Club. USAF Recruiter Wins SF Trip Air P6rce Recruiting Serjeant Don Adams of the Klamath Palls office has won a three-day trip to San Francisco with all expenses paid for being the top recruiter in the state of Oregon in July, Au gust und September. The Klamath Falls office will be closed Monday, Tuesday. Wednes day and Thursday ot tins wcck. During tne mice monui perioa. Adams signed up 42 men into the Air Force. Since he came to Klam ath Falls in February. 1054. he has enlisted more than 260 men, he estimated. Adams said that If these figures held true in Klamath Falls during the period bciore he got here, Klamath Falls probably has more men in the Air Force than mos; cities of its size. The total fell below last year s proceeds because a small crown attended, he added. Sharon Melsness was named car nival queen and Jack Dillavou king of the event. Chemult Women Ask Club Costs CHEMULT The Chemult Wom en's Improvement Club voted last week to ask John Sethman of Oak ridge for an estimate on the cost of enlarging the clubhouse to 250 persons capacity. Discussion at the last meeting also included the possibility of changing the club's constitution to allow men members and changing the name to Community Club. Mrs. Richard Clauson, president, announced that the club will handle the United Fund-Red Cross drive this month.
