This new Honey 'N Spice Cake blends well with many of our fav orite frostings, but for a change, here is a suggestion for an easy- to-fix Fluffy Honey Frosting that's as light as foam and will keep a day or so If neoessary. To frost a cake with a minimum of fuss, lust cut a large square of wax paper diagonally across to form four triangles. Re-form the square on the serving plate and place cake on the paper. After . frosting it is easy to remove each , triangle of paper in turn, leaving a clean plate underneath. . HONEY 'N SPICE CAKE 1 package Dromedary Honey N Spice Cake Mix 1 cup water 3 eggs Preheat oven to moderate (350 degrees). Lightly grease two 8-inch layer cake pans and Insert pan liners. Blend cake mix with water and eggs and bake, following pack age directions. When cool, fill and cover with Fluffy Honey Frosting. FLUFFY HONEY FROSTING 1 large egg white -i cup dark brown sugar ' teaspoon cream of tartar ij cup water 3 tablespoons honey . i teaspoon vanilla Combine egg white, brown sugar and cream of tartar in mixing ' bowl. Blend water and honey In small pan and bring to a boil. Add boiling liquid to egg white mix. ture and begin to beat at once with electric mixer or rotary beat er. Continue to beat until frosting is thick and fluffy (about 8-10 min utes.) Beat in vanilla. Enough to fill and frost 8 or 9 inch cake. ICE CREAM Ice cream is a family food. It is suitable for all ages and is a perfect dessert, a "pick-me-up' after shopping and a nutritious . after-school snack. Chocolate ice cream is vielng nationally for top spot with vanilla ai the favorite flavor. Speedy Apple Pie From the Crisco Kitchens comes this recipe tor quick apple pie which does not require rolling out a crust. 1 cup sifted flour i teaspoon salt 1-3 cup Crisco Va cup brown sugar, packed - '2 teaspoon cinnamon 2 teaspoon nutmeg 3 cups applesauce 1 tablespoon lemon juice Ice cream or regular oream Start heating oven at 375 de grees. Rub 8-inch pie plate with Crisco. Cut Crisco and salt into sifted flour with pastry blender or two knives until the pieces are the size of small peas. Then add brown sugar, cinnamon and nut meg and mix well. Fill pie plate with applesauce, add lemon Juice and spread the crumbly mixture over it: Bake for 25 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Serve warm or cold.
