T. 37 S., R. 15 E., W.M., Round Butte Area, Fremont National Forest, Oregon, estimat ed to be 6. 800.000 board feet, more or less, of live and recently dead (sound sapwood) ponderosa pine. 60,000 board feet, more or less of live and recently dead (sound sap wood) white fir and other species, and an unestimated amount of old er dead (unsound sapwood) tim ber of all species. No bid of less than $29.90 per M board feet for live and recently dead (sound sap- wood) ponderosa pine, $2.00 per M board feet for live and recently dead (sound sapwood) white fir and other species, and $1.00 per M board feet for older dead (un sound sapwood) timber of all spe cies will be considered. The price bid for all species except older dead (unsound sapwood) timber shall be subject to quarterly cal endar adjustment upward or down ward, by 0.6 of the difference be tween the base Index prices de termined as set forth below and the average of the Western Pine Association index prices as calcu lated by the Forest Service at the end of each quarter, sucn adjust ment in the stumpage rates shall be applicable to timber cut and scaled during the calendar quar ter for which the adjustment is computed. In no event, however, will the adjusted stumpage rates for each quarter be less than $5.00 per M board feet for live and re cently dead (sound sapwood) pon derosa pine, and $2.00 per M board feet for live and recently dead (sound sapwood) white fir and other species. The base index prices for this sale are an average of the monthly Western Pine As sociation lumber price indices from July 1. 1954 to Jane 30, 1955. In addition to the prices bid for stumpage a cooperative deposit of $0.50 per M board feet of iive and recently dead (sound sapwood) sawtimber of all species to be used by the Forest Service for paying the cost of slash disposal and a cooperative deposit of $3.75 per M board feet of live and re cently dead (sound sapwood) pon derosa pine sawtimber to cover the cost of tree planting, seed sow ing and timber stand improvement work on the area cut over will be required. As a qualification for oral bidding all bidders must sub mit a sealed bid accompanied by the required payment to the For est Supervisor prior to 10:00 a.m., October 19, 1955. Sealed bids will be posted at the beginning of the auction for the information of all bidders. A -money order, bank draft, or certified check for $10, 000.00 must accompany each, hid to be applied on the purchase price, refunded, or retained in part as liquidated damages, according to the conditions of sale. No. 655, Oct. 11 -1 Sacramento Solons Get New Director SACRAMENTO (UP) Elmo Lera, a Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company foreman, re placed Eddie Mulligan yesterday as a member of the board of directors of the Sacramento Solons. Mulligan, former president of the Pacific Coast League club, re signed from the board Saturday. There were reports he will sell his 304 shares in the club. Lera holds 105 shares, the next largest bloc to Mulligan's. A highlight of the evening was the ceremony promoting Willie Raj nus to Junior scoutmaster after Stastny explained the requirements of good leadership, cooperation and faithful following of -Scout laws. Two new members, Ronnie Ada mec and Claude Jiagerty, were in- Stastny; bronze palm, Ron Kalina, Edwin Stnsuiy Jr., Willie Rajnus and Stanely Petrasek. It was announced that Denny Kalina, Don Stastny, Edwin Stast ny and Willie Rajnus have brought borne their deer this season. Tne projects on which the Scouts are working include gathering deer hides for sale to buy dishes for Park Hall, painting and Installing street signs, and taking s census of the town.
