Gardner, SN, U.S. Navy, son of Mrs. Fay Fappin, Rt. 3, Box 1062, Klamath Falls, was graduated recently from the fire control technicians FChool aboard the U.S. Naval Training Center, San Diego, Call fornia. His next duty station will be the USS Watts. Gardner grad uated from Klamath Union High School prior to his entrance into lhe Navy In July, 1954, for medical care for her eyes. She also visited sister, Mrs. Johnson and Berkeley and Mrs. Mo Nee at San Francisco. Improving Charles E. Drew Is making a satisfectory convalesc ence from recent majcr. surgery at Klamath Valley Hospital. , Gone Mrs. Robert Merchant, the former Marilyn Morgan, has gone to England following a visit here with her aunts Mrs. William Melhase, Mrs. Cleo Dunlap and Mrs. Alpha Phelps and an uncle, William Howie and Mrs. Howie. She will join her husband,, serv ing in England wiih the mer chant marine, after ' spending a year in the state with her par ents. Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Mor gan, former residents of Klamath Falls. Chamber Meeting Frank Tuck er, manager of the Klamath Coun ty Chamber of Commerce, re turned Sunday from Eugene where he attended the annual meeting of the chamber executives of Oregon. The meetings were held October 1 and 8. Home Dr. Margaret K. Greg ory, 2115 Orchard Avenue, has re turned from an around the world trip made by air. -'The journey took three months and she visited many of the interesting spots on the itinerary. Academy of Friendship Women of the Moose, Chapter 467, will meet Tuesday, October 11, at 8 p.m. at the Moose Hall, 1010 Pine Street. There will be a discus sion on the bazaar. Stab Wound Not Felt" Milton Weston, resident at the Hart Hotel, was stabbed some time Saturday night while he was making the rounds of the taverns, Klamath Falls police reported to day. Weston reported the Incident Sun day morning, and told police that he, did not know who stabbed him or wnere ana wnen tne inciaeni occurred. He said he felt little pain, and discovered the cut when he found blood on his T-shirt Sun day morning. He told police that he had been wilh a group which had toured several bars and tav erns during the night. The board of directors has vot ed to allow three annual nurses scholarships to be given to high school girl graduates in Klainaih County. Thelrna Henry made an appeal for clolhes and toys for children attending the school for the deaf at Salem where her daughter Sher malee Is a member of the faculty. Men's shirts are particularly needed to use for protection of clothing of children 3-4-5 years of age. Living otiarters and food are ex cellent Mrs. Henry stated but there Is no provision in the school budg et for clothing and toys.
