Pearson and Phyllis Hill, 19, ere
accused of smuggling a cherry pie
spiced with hacksaw blades into the
oil last June. The cair was ar
rested after County Jailer Fred
Calfee found the blades in tne pie.
Mis Hill was released from jail
laat Saturday on a motion by
Deputy District Attorney P. Ken
aeth Pucltett on grounds that the
Oregon statute -was not sufficiently
eroad to cover her actions.
The pair was originally accused
of plotting a jail break for Leon
Oale Pearson, who with Melvin
Chiloqutn has since been freed from
assault charges arising out of the
h.irrnt Mllliur of John Madrueno,

February at cnuoquin.
