Jefirles has returned home to Boise alter visit ing in Chiloquin with her son and iamily, the Allen Jeffries. New Job Mrs. Lilly Lawrence of Carlsbad, New Mexico, mother of Mrs. John Bradshaw of Bonan za, has taken a job at the Hick man Hotel in Bonanza. Mra. Cecil Hunt and Eunice are home in Bonanza after several weeks at Miles City, Montana Macdoel The Calltomia Di vision of Forestry will hold public open house all day Sunaa, Au gust 38, at Its new office addition adjoining the Macaoel tire station. The addition was built with the help of high school boys employed by the forestry division. Mt. Carmel Altar Society A smorgasbord dinner at the Foil Klamath Civic Improvement Club will be held Saturday, August 21. between 6;30 and 8:30 p.m. It is sponsored by the Mt. Carmel Al tar Society. New Business Chiloquin will soon have a new service station when Bob Mitchell, who recently old his grocery store to Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Van der Kamp. con structs a pumice brick building across the highway from the ' depot. Mitchell has retained his dealership in Presto Logs. Visits Family Betty Wright, daughter of Robert W. Wright Sr., Chiloquin is visiting In town and working at Mellta's Cafe for two weeks before returning to her sen ior year at Bible Standard Institute in Eugene. Following dinner the organisation is sponsoring an open air dance starting at 8:30 P.m. on the club pavilion with three-piece local orchestra. Public invited to both affairs. Macdoel A tour of the lava beds was made Saturday by mem bers of Mrs. Carlos Rushing's Sunday School class. Tne group took tneir lunch and visited eight caves. In addition to nine mem bers of the class, those making the trip included Mr. and Mrs. Rushing and Mrs. Joe Alien. Sycan Mr. and Mis. Dick Fairfield and tamily have had her cousin, Nua Wmningham, of Yreka California, as a houseguest. She la the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Winningham, Yreka. Home Mr. and Mrs. Rov Heiney, Tulelake, have returned home from a successful fishing trip on tne Klamath River. Lakeview Seaman Morris Weathers, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Weathers of Lakeview i spending a 20-day leave at home. His ship, the USS Rochester, docked at Long Beach August 22 after six months in the Pacilic. Reinmdler, deputy grand matron, OES, District No. 3, state of Cali fornia. The Hawaiian theme was car ried out in the chapter room and banquet hall with ferns, flowers, palm trees and hula girls in grass skirts. Tables were festive with, lets, miniature palm trees and lrcsh puicapplcs. Mrs. William Paulson was or ganist for the evening. Mabel Park, worthy matron and William Allen, worthy patron.
