His father Is Charles MacArthur, playwright. Universalists, Unitarians Meet Weed Wabeno Group To Meet WEED Mrs. Al Cook, presided at the regular meeting of the Weed Wabeno Council 231. degree ol Pocohontas, Friday night, August 9 and announced October 1 as the date of the official visit of the Great Pocohontas of the state of California to the Weed Lodge. Mrs. Orville Rennlng was ap pointed chairman of a food sale to be held Saturday, September 3, at the Weed Mercantile. Other plans made were for a banquet to precede the October official visit which will be held at the Savoy Hotel. Mrs. Andrew Schneberger was given the delegate award and Mrs. Ruth Patterson the mystery pack age for the evening. Refreshments were served fol lowing: the adjournment- and en tertainment of games. Hostesses were Mrs. Alva Welch and Mrs. Pearl - Sbarbaro. Two officers Roy Holder, pow hattan, and Mrs. Ethel Moore, in stalled at the August 5 meeting. assumed their duties at the meet ing. New Bookkeeping System Approved YREKA The Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors has author ized a new. modern bookkeeping aystem for five county depart ments. The auditing firm of Porterfield and Harris of woodland, uaiuor- nia, was hired to do the job at an estimated cost of $2,700. FUGITIVE TAIPEI, Formosa UV-The Na tionalist Chinese news agency Tatao reported today that ex- Premier Pridi Phanomyong of Thailand is visiting Moscow. Pridi, a fugitive from Thailand, is leader of the "Free Thai" movement sponsored by the Chinese Commu nists. Substitute ministers for the church here will till the pulpit dur ing his absence.
