president of the Central Oregon
Medical Society, extended a wel
come invitation to all physicians to
attend the afternoon and evening
lectures.

Drugs in Gastroenterology,' and
"Drug Therapy in Allergy ": Dr.
Rogers J. Smith, "Suicide and the
Treatment of Depression," and
"The Use of Drugs In Psychiatry";

"Drug Therapy In Essential Hyper
tension." The postgraduate programs are

Although burglars Saturday night
failed to get what they were ap
parently after. Elmer's Service
Station, Weyerhaeuser Junction and
Highway fifl. sul fried heavy loss,
state police reported Monday.
That loss was In the form of
a empty and valuable cash regis
ter which was carried oif. The
service station manager reported
he paid $304.50 for it in J.muary.
It weighs 100 pounds, it was re
ported. Police said entry was pained af
ter breaking a rear window.
Nothing else was disturbed, po
lice reported.

peal of the James Qumton Ander
son murder case to the Oregon
Supreme Court has been re
quested by attorneys Herbert and
Robert Welch, Lakeview. counsel
for the convicted slaver of Richard
David Miller. Klamath Reserva
tion show horse breeder.
Anderson was found puilty of the
murder last February afier a spec
tacular two-weeic trial at Burns.
Robert Welch said Monday that
the latest delaylnpr in fillnir the
transcript of the homicide trial had
been requested because other pressing-
legal business had made it im
possible for the defense lawyers
to complete the action on or be
fore September 1.
Welch added that the motion lor
an extension to October 1 had been
filed in Harney County Circuit
Court but he had not been in
formed whether Judge M. A. Biggs,
who presided at the Anderson trial,
had approved another delay.
Anderson has been held in the
Klamath County Jail since his con
viction. Judge Biggs permitted his
transfer to Klamath Palls after it
was shown that the Harney County
Jail in Burns does not provide
maximum security.
The case was tried In Burns after
Circuit Judge David R. Vandenberg
of Klamath Falls sustained a mo
tion for a change of venue. The
defense contended that feeling was
so strong against Anderson that
he could not obtain a fair trial in
Klamath Countv.
