Persons Over 70
Okayed For Jobs
WASHINGTON Ifl The Civil
Service Commission today an
nounced a change in its regulations
to permit persons over 70 to take
regular federal joos.
Under the old regulations such
persons could receive only tem
porary renewaole appoints of up to
one year.
The commission said the change
was made to conform to congres
sional action lilting maximum age
restrictions on federal appoint
ments for this fiscal year, which
ends June 30, 1U56.
A commission spokesman said
the change does not afiect the
requirement for mandatory retire
ment at age 70 of any federal
employe who has served at least
IS years, unless he is cominuea
n service by a civil service or
presidential order.

Divorce Filing

Schmidt will file "not later than
Monday ior a divorce from the

plans to start divorce proceedings
for Schmidt "perhaps this week

Spurs Hold Ride
MACDOEL The moonlight ride
Saturday evening, sponsored by the
Butte Valley Spurs, was attended
by some 85 persons. About half of
the group met at the Mt. Hebron
store with their horses and rode
out. Others arrived by car. The
ride was held at the Keith Truax
ranch.
Stew, salad, cake, coffee and
punch were served later in the
evening by the Spurs.
