New Setback Rule Passed YREKA The Siskiyou County I board of supervisors passed a set back ordinance at their regular meeting. The ordinance requires that all buildings of a permanent nature be set back from county roucb at least 60 feet Horn the center line of the road It faces. Violators ace a fine of $300, M lUya in the county Jail or boll). The ordinance states that the j county will not be responsible lor j moving buildings in violation on the ordinance which were built after lta passage. In making the appointment, the supervisors followed the recom mendation of the Siskiyou Airmen's Association. The Job. which will he on a part time basis, has been vacant since L. D. Nichols resigned last spring. In its letter, the association rec ommended Coonrod because he has been flying in Siskiyou County since 1939, and Is familiar with all airports and hazards to aerial navigation. Before voting on the appointment. tne board heard a letter of protest from Mr. and Mrs. Fred RaffaelU of Hill, who said they felt that I.eo Punnton, operator of Siskiyou Alrwuys Plying School and charter service and fixed base operator at the Montague Municipal Airport, would have been a better choice. They said they felt the recom mendation ot the board was baseo on personality and no; qualifica tions. The appointment passed unani mously.
