Twentv-seven counties along- the coast are opened lor the preview skirmish, with the shooting begin ning one-half hour before sunrise Aug. 6 and ending at sundown Sept. 18. The story throughout most of the counties runs to a pattern: As many or more bucks than dur ing last year's record season; deer in good condition; fire danger ex treme; and most hunting sounds on private land. FIRE DANGER The fire danger Is extremely high in all areas opened for the coastal hunt, with a number of Soulhern California sectio js closed by the Forest Service. Portions of the Cleveland, San Bernardino, Angeius and Los Padres national forests will not be opened for hunt ing. Elsewhere, the California Divi sion of Forestry said the fire haz ard is some four to six weeks ad vanced of normal because of light spring rains.
