Mrs. Doug Reid and Ed Carber. Also home are Mr. end Mrs. Lowell Marxer, teachers at the. Adin Ele mentary School, and Al Pratt of Lookout. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. John Mankin of Furt Bidwell, Modoc County, California, are vacationing - at Lincoln, California, and San ' Francisco after Mis. Mankin s summer school at Chico ended July 28. Mankin met her at Chico and they are visiting her sister at. Lincoln before going to the Bay city. Mrs. Morris Parker and family in Keno and Mrs. Bud Loomis and family at Klamath Falls. Weekend The Larry Owens fam ily of Keno spent the weekend at Four Mile Lake. The Semon-Thompson summer home at Lake of the Woods was the scene of a planned potluck pic nic and full day by members of the Thursday Club and their fam ines, ot Mt. ' Locker Meat Mr. and Mrs Jack Boss and family drove to Chiloqutn from Eugene Monday to get meat for their locker and to visit with Mrs. Boss grandmother, Mrs. Lanore Flurv and two aunts, Mrs. Henry Wolff and Mrs. Roy Gienger. Mrs. Flury was ill last spring but has recovered and Is in Chiloquin visiting her daugh ters and son. Card Party The Olene-Plne Grove Orange publto card party will be held in the community hall. Saturday, August a, 1 p.m. Prises and refreshments. Farm Bureau members are re minded of the annual potluck pic nic at the Bonanza Park, Sunday. August 1. Home Mrs. Lena Buck, book keeper for the Sharp Grain Com pany, Merrill has returned home after an automobile vacation trip up the Oregon Coast to Astoria. See Grandchild Mr. and Mrs. Merle O'Neil or Eastside visited the Richard Bucks at Westside and saw their new grandchild and her parents, the Don Youngs ,who are visiting in Lake County on a month's leave from Florida where Don is stationed. Jo Morgan lone time Keno resl dent, has announced plans to open the Keno Cafe which has been closed for a month because of the illness of Mrs. Fred Barnes, wife of the owner, Jerry Young is making an ex tended visit at the home of 'his foster mother, Rosie Roose in Keno. He hopes to find employ ment and settle in the Klamath Basin. Home Sonya and Rosalie De month spent at Orchards, Wash ington, with their grandparents, r. and Mrs. Louis DeGrande and Mr. and Mrs. Joel Hansen. Dinner The Mt. Carmcl Altar Society of Chiloquin is sponsoring Vacation The Rev. and Mrs. Edmund Stanton and son. Wesley, left for Washington a week ago where he attended' a pastor's school. He returned Sunday to Chiloquin to perform a marriage ceremony and returned to Wash ington where they will visit rela tives. Major Surgery was given Mrs. Frank DiUlio of Chiloquin Monday afternoon at Klamath Valley Hos pital where she1 will remain for the rest of this week. DiUlio has been the high school coach but this year will be on the faculty in a different capacity. From Hlllsboro Sally and Billy Swanson, formerly of Chiloquin, are visiting friends there for two weeks. - Minister Visits The Rev. and Mrs. Ellcry Echlln and family were Chiloquin guests Monday on their return from vacation in Cali fornia. They left their children, De los. Marilyn and Dennis, to visit with friends for a week. Mother Recovering Mr. and Mrs. Jarvey Riddle are home from Sweet Home where they were called by the Illness of his mother who is not home from the hos pital. .."'. Traveling Mrs. Marion Barnes nnd Mrs. Rose Lux left today for Dunsmuir where they will visit with Mrs. Barnes' daughter,' Mrs, W. L, Garriott and family. Called to Eugene Mr. and Mrs; Rex Gritcmaker of Macdoel. were called to Eugene by the death Sun day of his mother, Mrs. Mary Gritsmaker. who was 18. Funeral services were held Wednesday. William Gritzmaker returned home with his son for a visit of several weeks. Mardoel Jerry Sheldon, grand son of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Dieter, is back in the United States after IS months in Germany. . Mrs. Martha Brannan of Mac doel observed her 81st birthday an, niversary at Butte Creek recently with all of her children present. Attending were Mr. and Mrs- R. H. Brannan of Las Ayette. Eastside The community was saddened by news of the death of Jackie Siteman at the Vernon ranch where they were visiting from their home at National City, California. Mrs. Siteman was for merly Betty Cogburn and had vis ited at the homes of uncles here, Will Vernon and Earl Cogburn. Vacationing Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Brown, Mrs. Ivan Pankey and her son Ivan left August 2 for Canada where they will vacation for two weeks. He is one of 36 practising dentists of the North west enrolled for a six-day ad vanced study in oral surgery. In structor is Col. Robert B. Shlra, chief of oral surgery at Walter Reed Army Hospital, Washington, D.C. Dr. Dean is a graduate of the Oregon Dental school.
