gram is a key part of U.S. for
eign economic policy.

To Be Cut

Interstate Commerce Commission
orders Thursday to reduce 'some

The carriers argued the rates
were planned to maintain a rela
tion to intrastate rates, which
they said vary In the Northwest.
However, the ICC held it was
not reasonable to subject certain
interstate freight to a higher
charge than that applied to other
shipments in the some general
area.
The ICC ordered the reductions
into effect Jan. 10.
