Langslet, post master. "Businessmen dissatisfied with the delivery of their mall should not place all the responsibility for , delay on the Post Office Depart ment." Langslet commented. "Many business firm themselves contribute to the delay of mall de liveries by allowing their mall to pile up until 5 p.m. when' the ac cumulation of the day is taken to the post office." This practice produces a supper time, avalanche of mail In the post office and a log-Jam of letters to be processed, sorted and prepared 10 oe sent out, ne added. Particularly during the holiday season, business firms are urged to deposit their out-going mail two or three times a day, A 9 a.m. pickup has been added In Klamath Falls, in addition to the regular pickups during the noon hour and a. pickup later in the day. The early pickup has been arranged so that mail can be sorted to be dis patched on daytime planes and trains. "If more mailers can be per suaded to deposit their mail a minimum of two or more times a day so that It can be worked dur ing slack periods, the dispatch of mail can be expedited," Langslet concluded. , 1 Stock Dental t Checks Made ;: ! They include difficulties as sociated with erupting or shred' ding of teeth; injuries sustained from biting on hard objects; and anatomical Irregularities, such as misshaped jaws, unopposed teeth, and more teeth than it la normal for an animal to have. Symptoms of dental difficulties Include frequent drooling; slow, deliberate chewing, indicating pain and sudden drawing back from cold water while drinking. Hog Production Rise Reported With favorable prices for hogs compared to prices of corn, far mers expanded hog production this year. But the marketing specialists of the U.S. Department of Agricul ture report the retraced corn crop is slowing up that expansion. They now expect the spring pig crop nextr year may run only about two to five per cent more than the crop last spring. They think more hogs will go to slaugh ter in '55 than this year; and prices will be lower, but about average compared with prices for corn. They don't think the rate of slaughter will rise as fast next summer and fall as It had this year. Man Killed In Tenement Fire NEW YORK W A swift-spreading fire blocked the stairs of a five - story teaement yesterday, burned one man to death and caused Injury to at least four per sons. Several : persons jumped from apartment windows after finding the stairs cut off by fire. Others waited on ledges until rescue units arrived with ladders. Chief Fire Marshal Martin Scott raid the blaze apparently origi nated in the hallway of a double building at 214-216 W. 78th St. Firemen found the burned body of an unidentified man in a top floor bathroom.
