Creative em broidery was the topic ot the day ably led by Delores steffanson who Is chairman of the unit. Mrs. steffanson resigned as chairman as she and her family are moving to Lakeview. Mrs. Ted Hyde was elected to take her place. Another officer. Mrs. Emil Johnson, secretary has moved re cently to Roscburg and Eleanor Thomson was elected to take her place. Mexican Accident Victims Found MEXICO CITY I The bodies of six mountain climbers swept away by an avalanche on Mt. Popocat epetl were ' found last night in a crevasse near the 17,887-foot sum mit. Two other members of the party who escaped the snowy slide were rescued earlier. The dead included two women. It was the highest toll for a single mountain accident in Mexico's his tory. The meeting, an nounced by Hope Holbrook and Rny Petersen, county extension agents, will begin at 10 a.m. The meeting will be open to the public. John Landers, Oregon State Col lege extension livestock speciulist, will cut the side of beef into in dividual cuts. Taking it from there, Agnes Kolshom, extension nutri tion .specialist, will show how to wrap it for freezing. She will also discuss cocking methods for the cuts according to their tenderness and other characteristics. A panel of representatives of all parts of the meat industry will lake a look at livestock and meat marketing in Klamath c o u n t y. They will also discuss the Orrgon livestock and meat marketing con-; ference held last January on the Oregon State College campus and how It applies locally. Among the recommendations ol that state conference were com-! pulsory meat Inspection law and; more education ol consumers on meat. At that meeting representatives of each part of the Industry took part. They included consumers, producers, livestock market ing agencies, packers, retailers and labor. Mail Ruined By Chicago Flood CHICAGO OR Some 3,000 pieces of parcel post and three railroad baggage carloads of magazines, books and newspapers were ruined in the Union Station flood during the record rainfall 10 days ago. The Chicago post office said to day some 28 pouches of soaked tlrst-class mail were being dried out. Mail with legibile addresses will be delivered, but the post of fice will not assume responsibility for nonlnsured mail. Oregon Forage Study Planned Nature's process of supplying the greens, yellows and other colors to "bossy's" feed may lead Ore' gon State College scientists to bet ter quality forage crops. OSC agricultural chemists and farm crops researchers have re ceived a $5500 federal grant to study color - adding "chromogen1 compounds In forage plants as a possible key to the nutritive value of the plants.
