Krause spoke to members qf the North Side Gar den Club recently on the cultiva tion and growing of chrysanthe mums in Klamath Falls. Her talk was illustrated with colored slides of local flowers and flowers grown in Japan. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Bernard Volt. Present were Mrs. Robert Mc Clurg, Mr. Ray Keller, Mrs. Har old Hayden, Mrs. Glen Thomason, Mrs. B. C. Johnson, Mrs. Valk and a new member Mrs. L. B. Deen. Old Building Being Razed A Klamath Falls landmark, the old home of the late Marion Hanks and Mrs. Hanks, bull' in 1910 at the corner of Eighth and Pine Streets, is being torn down t: make room for a new parking lot for patrons of the US. National Bank located one block away on Main Street. Mr. and Mrs. Hanks lived in the home for 26 years, it later was occupied by a funeral horn;, the Klamath County Health De partment Offices and more re cently by the Klamath Business College which moved to South Sixth Street. The property was purchased last May by the bank. The parking lot will have frontage of 130 feet on Pine Street and 120 feet on Eighth Street. Space for 50 autos will be provided. Completion Is scheduled by winter. Materia! from the building is being sent to Chiloquin to use for construction of a residence on the city park site and for a new Meth odist church.
