Haynes, daughter of Mrs. A. Haynes, 6003 South Sixth Street, became the bride of Ben nie Franklin, Kemet, California, in the Assembly of God Church, Sep tember 12. For her informal wedding the bride wore a white knit suit with pink accessories. Her sister. Eve lyn Haynes. who attended her. wore a similar costume in pale blue knit with white accessories. The bridegroom was attended by Oren C. Lewis, brother-in-law of the bride. Fred Lewis, close friend of the family, gave Ruth in mar riage. Forrest Bord officiated.: El berta Bord was organist and ac companied Juanita Fabianlk, who was soloist at her cousin's wed ding. Out of town guests included bride's grandmother. Mrs. Mary Patton. Beaverton; Mable Down ing. Lebanon; Mr. and Mrs. Oren Lewis, Linda and Duana, Sacra mento. Mrs. Lewis is the bride's sister; and Linda and Duana, nieces of the bride were flower girls in pink nylon dresses and carrying pink nopepay bouquets. Bride's uncle, of this city was spe cial local guest. The reception was In the church parlors. 104 met September 16 with Noble Grand Lorene McCollum presiding. After the . opening ceremony past noble grands took over with Mae Anderson acting noble grand and with past noble grands in the chairs she conducted the routine business meeting. Addison Mad Hatter Prize At ESA Party Fall "went to the heads" of ESA members and guests at a Mad Hat ter's party, Monday, September '13. Prize went to Ruby (Bunny) Ad dison who carried out the theme of a Monday washday. A cleverly constructed hat was complete witn washing machine, laundress, and the clothes - line of hanging wash. Jean Baldwin, hostess, led the group in games and served deli cious refreshments. Guests for the evening were Virginia Bilyeau and Jean Wright. An executive board meeting fol lowed the party. A series of lunch eons for the Inter-Agency Council will be held the first Wednesday of each month, starting October 5. Susan Bay was appointed record ing secretary in the absence of De lores Cilcrist. Next meeting will be at the home of Susan Bay, 1934 Auburn Street. Mrs. Lucille Jones, Med ford, state parliamentarian of ESA will be guest speaker. All mem bers are urged to attend. WOM Meeting MERRILL' Women of the Moose Merrill Chapter No. 18 held a Star Recorder's Day Sun day, September 26 in the IOOF Hall, Merrill. Thirty-nine members were present and 16 guests from the Klamath Falls Chapter en Joyed the program. Two Star Recorders, Fannie Mae Thompson, Klamath Falls, and Rose Van Meter, Malin, also dep uty grand regent of Oregon were present. Vocal numbers were given by Jodie and Cathy Baley and by Rose Spolek and Barbara Whit latch with Lillian Thomas at the piano. A ballet march was directed by the Klamath Falls chapter with 16 women participating In the drill. Mae Anderson, president of the PNG Club, thanked noble grand Lorene for the honor given them. Refreshments were served later in the banquet hall. Next regular meeting will be Oc tober 7, when charter members and 50 year members will be hon ored. After the meeting the degree staff is to remain for a rehearsal of the initiatory ceremony. . Proett offi ciated at the 8:30 p.m. service; and the bride was given In mar riage by Cecil Bratton. Frances Hamilton, organist, ac companied Herman Eschen, soloist. The bride wore a white gown v;ith bodice of lace, topped with matching bolero. The full skirt of tulle over taffeta, was ballerina length. A tiara of pink rosebud.-. and stephanotis florets held her brief veil. She wore a shoulder corsage of the same flowers. Mrs. Clifford Collins was the bride's only attendant; and she wore a pale green waltz length dress and a corsage of white car nations. Clarence Randall was best man, and Clifford Collins ushered. Bride's mother, who was unable to attend, was represented by Hai riett Newman, She wore a white knit suit and pink carnation cor sage. The reception was at the home of the bridegroom's parents. Mrs. Clarence Randall and Mrs. Wil liam Smith poured; and Mrs. Clif ford Collins cut the cake. For the wedding trip north along the Oregon Coast and other points, the new Mrs. Chatfield wore a tan and brown suit with matching ac cessories. She will Join her hus band as soon as he finds suitable living quarters in Sm Diego, where he Is stationed with the Navy. Aloha Past 1 Matrons Club Fast matrons and patrons of Alo ha and other chapters were honored guests at the stated meeting of Aloha Chapter 61 OES Tuesday, September 28, In the Masonic Tem ple. Members and visitors were greeted by Myrtle and Howard Mark, Edith Williams and Maur ice Sherman. Rosalee Hoback, worthy matron of Cascade Crest Chapter, was es corted and seated In the east with tho presiding worthy matron, Rena Oldham, and worthy patron, Ray mond Owens. First - time visitors introduced were; Myrth and J. W. Bartlett from Pacific Chapter 79, Toledo; Cleta Paddock, Waverly Chapter 134, Portland and Thelma Elliott, Newberg Chapter 85, New bcig. A solo honoring past matrons and patrons was sung by Bill Mc Kibbon, accompanied by Margaret Sheridan. A group of little "Hawaiian" girls dressed In colorful grass skirts and lcis entertained with dances, and songs, then presented flowers from the worthy matron to all past matrons and patrons in attendance. The dancers, led by thtir young instructor, Sandra Pemberton, were Charlene Mc Kay, Tessie Powell, Darlene Bur nett, Kay Gentry, Sandy Lawson, Velesta Hanklns, Delphlne, Patsy and Peggy Walden. The program was arranged by Lcona Angel and Martha Powell. Tables in the banquet room were placed to form a cross and were decorated with bouquets of autumn flowers. Gifts were placed- at the guest table for all past matrons and patrons of Aloha. Refreshments were prepared and served by the following: Ada Pat terson and Emllie Halderman, co chairman; Delphia Hoyte, Oeneva Swift, Lorraine Kranenburg, Helen Crapo, Ruth Hopson, Mildred Pep per, Roger Hopson, Harley Pepper and Pat Patterson. Malin Teachers Greeted on 21st MALIN A large crowd turned out Tuesday evening September 21 at the Malin High School Auditor ium to meet and welcome teachera of both the elementary and high school staffs. The business meeting was con ducted by president Frank Hale, who also acted as master of cere monies and introduced the teach ers. Business discussed and voted upon was to have a food booth at the Merrill Potato Festival; and a rummage sale during harvest, Both motions carried. During the next month a mem' bership drive will be held in the clemtary school rooms; and the room bringing In the most mem bership dues from parents will re ceive a prize. Special guest for the meeting was Sergeant D. Trainer of the Ground Observer Corps, who spoke on the urgent need lor more sky-watchers. Corsages made by the Malln Garden Club members were pre sented to the women teachers and boutonnleres to the men, as they were Introduced: Dorothy Gordon, first grade; Stella Brown, first and second; Margaret McHenry, sec ond; Ircna Jelinek, third; Elsie Mock, fourth: Betty Miller, fifth; arid Frank Hale, principal, A. E. Street, high school principal Intro duced Barbara Cooper, Norma Pe trasek, Mildred Tofell, Jim Con- roy. Art Robinson, Don Miller Robert Bitney, Charles Dobry, Bar bara Welmcr and Mrs. Robert Bitney. Effa Johnson and Lela Thin-man, teachers at the Malln Labor Camp were also Introduced, as well as cafeteria cooks, Mrs. Joe Illlan, Mabel Cunningham and Nell Woods. Recognition was given Jan itors Joe Illlan and Jim Fowler. School board members are Bill Rajnus, Ed Stastny and Vate Ka Una. A girls' quartet sang "Carolina Moon," accompanied at the piano by Marie DcMott. The four were Eureka Cook, Dlanne Micka, Bar bara Bunnell and Joan Freitag.
