Formal Reopening For New Oregon Food Store Slated Newest addition to rapidly grow ing Suburban South Sixth , Street, is the enlarged Oregon Food Store, No. 3; to be formally opened in the near future. The entire store Is now open for business. The $50,000 new addition has a floor space of 48 by 120. Exterior is of concrete faced with Roman split tile and redwood trim. The entire front of the building is glass, including the remodeled grocery departments. The newdditlon has a spacious mezzanine which is devoted to complete stocks of women's and children's ready to wear, an in fants section and a layette gift uliop. ! . Housewares, hardware, electri cal appliances, toys, men's and boy's clothing, yardage, notions, home remedies, magazines and greeting cards, stationery and gift items are on the main floor. All departments are completely self service to conform Willi the grocery department. Department heads will assist with purchases which are taken to a central checking station at the front of the store. New features In Jie grocery store Include a frozen meat serv ice where customers may choose frozen cuts - for locker storage, more lines of frozen foods, larger produce and self service meat cases and a '"party pantry" spe cializing in fancy food items have been added. Increased parking facilities have been provided - to accommodate nearly double the original number of cars that could be bandied. Joe Fales Is owner of the three Oregon Food stores, the remodeled unit at 4480 South Sixth, one at 2410 South Sixth Street and the third at 1350 Oregon Avenue. Store No. 3 was built in 1950. Mrs. Paul (Nellie) Angstead is general manager of the three stores. Mrs. Annes M. Goodwin, form erly of Miller's Is In charge of the children's and women's ready to wear.
