Allen of Lakevlew, is currently taking part in firing and tactical exercises with other members of the 35th Field Artillery Battalion at roil Riley, Kansas. He entered the army in 1042 and is a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. September 3 has been desig nated as Business Education Day for the school teachers of the city schools. At least 35 local business firms will be cooperating in this undertaking. Conference For the third con recutlve year, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will hold a Better Business Relations Conference at the Gearhart Hotel on the Oregon coast. Nurses Plan Panel Meeting Oregon State Nurses Association has planned a panel discussion on "Better Care lor Older People" at a meeting Thursday, September 9, 8 p.m. at the Public Health Unit, 1049 Main Street. TJhe subject is of interest to members of the Medical Society, Registered Nurse's Association, P r a c 1 1 c al Nurses Association and the public. Taken under consideration on the panel will be foster homes, existing facilities and the role of the practical nurse. Anyone Interested, both profes sional and non-professional will be welcomed. "CHIP", a boxer owned by C. V. (Dud) Courtney Jr., 15 Warring Street, and handled by Kathey McDonald, will be shown at the Klamath show at the fairgrounds Saturday and again on Monday at Eugene. Bonanza Park Celebration Held BONANZA The celebration held recently to mark the third year of the Bonanza Big Springs Park,' while not meant to be a money raising project did realize sixty five dollars from donations and the sale of coffee and cake. Many peo ple attended the potluck supper and later the square dance. A lew adults and a crowd of young peo ple attended the movie. At the end of festivities the large beautifully decorated birthday cake was cut and everyone given a piece. The park received, as a birthday present, a small pump to oper ate the drinking system.
