Newspaper Page TextPAGE TWENTY Want Anti-Red Bill Signed By Ike DENVER Ml President Ei. senhower Tuesday signed legisla tion outlawing the Communist Par ty and declared the American people are determined to root out "conspiracies dedicated to the de struction of our form of govern ment by violence and lorce." The bill to which the chief execu tive (put his signature at his vaca tion headquarters here also Is de signed to crack down on Red-in-nitrated labor unions. After signing the bill, the Pres ident issued a prepared formal , statement announcing he intends ' to approve three other anti-Com munist measures passed by con gress. They are: 1. A bill providing fur stripping citizenship from those who advo cate overthrow of the government by force and violence. 2. A measure providing the death penalty ior persons fount! guilty of peace-time esplonaKe. That bill also would include with in the definition of sabotage acts Involving the use of radio-active, biological and chemical agents. 3. A bill prohibiting payment of pensions and annuities by the United States to former officers and employes who have been con victed of certain criminal offenses. The measure is aimed particularly against former State Department oflicial Alger Hiss, who was con victed of perjury and denying that he passed secret data to Commu nist agents.
