The Rev. Edmund Stanton plans to move the Swansons from Ash land. George Hobbs-, high school In structor, completed summer school in Ashland week ago and is now helping John Mathis, high school principal with some con struction work. Mr. . and Mrs. Mathis have spent the summer improving the home they pur chased last spring. Danny Mathis. 3-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mathis, nar rowly escaped serious injury re cently when he managed to turn on the key and ."start the car his lather had left in gear. Redwood City, were guests last week of the Rev. and Mrs. Edmund Stanton, Guests from Seattle last week at the home o Mr. and Mrs. John Jaderholm were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ellis and children, Mr, and Mrs. Harry Elliott, who moved 'from Chiloquin to Laguna Beach a number of years ago have returned here. Elliott is working with his father in the op eration of their cattle ranch on Crooked Creek. Mrs. Elliott is the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Robert Hall Sr. Mrs. Curtis Jester and family have tfeen visiting relatives in Medford recently. Jester works for Bonneville in Washington. Earl Hall, Lyle and Janet re turned Friday from a camping and fishing trip to East Lake. BONANZA By CORA LF.AVITT K. I, Bold, Mrs. Ivan Bold and Gary spent several days in Port land last week. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fruzier en turtained with a birthday dinner August 14 in honor of Mrs. Anna King. Other guests were Mrs. Mary Smith and Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Jkhnson. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hynes and Debbie and Joan have left for Santa Barbara- to make their home. She is the daughter nf Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Givans. Jim end Rex Por'.eriield and Joe Hocffler spent last weekend at Canby where they attended the wedding of Bill Schoonover, coach of Bonnim High lt year, and Claire Kyllo. Mr. and Mrs. Bob 'Schmor were also there. Bob has been attending school a: Eugene this summer. Tex Hitson is spending a few days at Rogue River with rela tives. Irving Elfstrom has been here for several weeks from Seattle visitinu his aunt Mrs. Louis Ran dall and family: Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Fulkerson and C. T. Fulkerson luve been here from Portland to visit Don Ph!!palts and his mother Mrs. Eva Phllpotts. C. T. Fulkerson was botn in Langell Valley in 1869. and left there for plympla when he was 16 years old. After re tiring he moved to Portland to n.ake his home with his son and family. This is the first time back here since he left in 1889. They all made a trip around the' valley one day and he visited his birth place, the ranch now is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Martin. Needless to say he saw a great many changes. , Everyone is reminded of the big square dance at the Bonanza Big Springs Park. It is the third birthday of the park and a pot luck supper is planned to start at 6 p.m. There will be a big birth day cake. All proceeds will go to the park fund.
