The new district oificers were present for the council meet held here July 24-25 with delegates reg istered from Grants Pass, Medford and Klamath Falls. Theme of the meeting was "The Roundup." A roundup style supper was served Saturday night at the home of Mrs. Mike Petroff followed by a swim In the hot water pool. Headquarters for the Sunday ses sion was the Willard Hotel. Committee chairman for the council were Leigh Manning, pro- gram; Ruth O'Hara, registration: Blanche Petroff. publicity; Mai gifret Davics, decorations; Phyliss Glass, music. . Reba Martz spoke on the chosen theme during the afternoon-session Sunduy. During the business meeting the club was encouraged to maintain the high standard of parliamen tary law classes that have been taught and reports of the last six months were heard. Cor don (R-Ore) reported Thursday. He said a total of $1,600,000 would be allocated among seven projects, all of which have been authorized by Congress lor joint development by the federal gov ernment and local or private agen cies, ' or are previously authorized projects which are being consid ered for such joint construction. Cordon said -the four Pacific Northwest projects are John Day Dam. $700,000, and Priest Rapids Dain, $330,000, both on the Colum bia River; Green Peter Dam on the Santiam in Oregon, $150,000: and Cougar Dam on the south fork of the McKenzie, Oregon, $150,000. The recommendation, still to be approved by the Senate, also must tan accented bv th House which did not include any money for this purpose in passing its version of the supplemental appropriation bill. ,-.
