The short business meeting was conducted by president Cora Lea vltt. Motion made and carried to give live dollars each year to the Com' munlty Loungo in Klamalh Falls The club has turned over $210.50 to be used for the Langell Valley Community Hull. Clyde Woolen and Cora Leavltt head the control board of the Community Hal! and are assisted by the heads of all the organizations of the valley. The club plan a dance for Aug ust, either the 14th or the 28th, as the Bonanza Park Is having a birthday celebration marking the three years of the park's existence since August 21, 1951. August 21 Is the regular date for the club dnnces, but will be held a right not to Interfere with the park anniversary party. Mrs. Mae Gale will be in charge of the dance: ami music will be lurnlshed by the Three Notes. Following the meeting, Mrs. Paul Monroe showed her interesting col ored slides that she had taken in Canada, Mexico, California, and Oregon. Layette Shower MALIN A delightfully planned layette shower was given for Mrs Wayne Flsk, Friday, Julv 16, at the home of Mrs. Edwin Petrnsek. Assisting hostesses with Mrs. Pelrasek were Mrs. Louis Kallna, Mrs. Edwin Stastny and Mrs. Walter Stastny. A social evening of pinochle was followed with the opening of many lovely and proctleal gifts by the honored guest. The gift table was centered with a large stork and dainty bouquets of summer flowers were placed about the room. Present were: Mrs. Frank Paygr, Mrs. George Mlcka, Mrs. F.mll Tofcll. Mrs. Jerry Rajnus, Mrs. Bill Rajnus, Mrs. Gib Os born, Mrs. Merle Long, Mrs. Bob Byrne, Mrs. Philip Blohm, Mrs. Merle Loosley, Mrs. Joe Halou sek, and Mrs. Mervyn Wilde. In a candlelight ceremony, July 3, Lillian Stiles, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Ernest R. Stiles, 4949 Austin Street, became the bride of Richard Lundsten, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Lundsten, 1818 Kane. The Rev. Dwayne L. Proett read the 8 p.m. service In Peace Mem orial Church in the presence of a large gathering of friends and relatives. ' ' Mrs. Frances Hamilton, organist, played incidental wedding music, and accompanied Ronald Bryan, soloist, who sang, "Because" and "The Lord's Prayer." Candlellght ers were June Jessup and Marlene Stiles, cousins of the bride. Church decorations featured white gladioli In large arrange ments with touches of aqua and yellow, carrying out the brides color scheme. Flickering candle light from numerous tapers soft ly Illuminated the setting; and lighted candles tied with white satin bows marked alternate pews. The brldo, given In marriage by her father, wore a gown of Chan tllly lace over satin, which she had made herself. In traditional white. It was designed with a Basque bodice of the lace over satin- pointed at the waist, featuring sottly curved neckline and long sleeves pointed at the wrists. The lull skirt of nylon tulle over satin extended Into long graceful train A Chantllly lace headband seed pearl trimmed held her finger tip veil of Illusion. She carried large single white o r c h 1 d purple throated arranged with stephanotis and satin streamers Matron of honor, Mrs. Kenneth Young (Betty Redfield). wore a gown of aqua organza over taffeta. It was made from the same Pat tern as the bride's gown, with a matching sash, tied in a large bow. Her colonial bouquet was of varied pastel shades. Bridesmaids, Rita Lundsten, sis ter of the bridegroom; and Mrs. Robert C. Baker (Margery Lar son), wore replicas of the matron of honor's dress In yellow, 'lnen bouquets were the same as the matron of honor's, and all wore matching hair bands of the same flowers. Flower girl, Donna Redfield, cousin of the bride, wore a frock ot white sheer orguniza over taf- fct:a and an aqua sash. She car ried a basket of pastel petals. Best man was George Howard Groesbeck: and Gene Oldham and Clayton Hannon ushered. Terry Clement, cousin ot the bridegroom, was ring bearer; dressed as the senior male attendants. The bride's mother wore A pink lace' afternoon dress; i; comple mented with a rosebud corsage; dusty rose lace was worn by the bridegroom's mother, and her cor sage was the same. Wedding guests were received In the church parlors. At the coffee service and punch bowl were Joyce Icenbice and Sharon Stiles. Mrs. Robert Childers (Carol Steers): and Patricia Walker cut the onke; and assisting were Mrs. Vesta' Stiles and Mrs. Donna Wiard. The wedding trip was to Lake Tahoe;- and ton ravel, .Lillian wore a white suit With navy' accessories and the orchid from her bridal bouquet. The couple Is now at home, 2131 Oak Street. The bride. In keeping with tradi tion, carried an heirloom handker chief belonging to the bride groom's great-grandmother; she wore a new wedding dress; a bor rowed veil; and the blue garter and lucky penny were given her by her grandmother, Mrs. J. LV Farm Bureau LANGELL VALLEY The Lan- cell Valley Farm Bureau met at the Community Hall the evening of July 20. Chairman Floyd Meeker pre sided at the short business meet ing. Several resolutions were voted on. Mrs. Millie Martin, Mrs. Mil dred Novotny, and Mrs. Elf red a Lindsay were appointed on the nominating committee. Election of officers will be held at the next meeting on August 17. It is hoped a large crowd will attend this im portant meeting. Following the meeting the Wheat Growers League showed a movie "Give us This Day." In technicol or, with sound, it was most en joyable. LaVern Hankins showed the film. Another guest was Ver non Hubble, chairman of the Bo nanza Center. Mrs. Romtvedt and her commit tee served refreshments after the movie. BIRTHDAY A birthday handkerchief shower was given recently for Mrs. Lee Ann) Ackerman at the home of Mrs. Harry Lester, 3228 Laverne. Co-hostess was Mrs. Lucille Mon roe. Poems appropriate to the birth day occasion and passages from the scriptures were read. Other di version of the afternoon was group singing with Mrs. Ackerman and Mrs. Bertha Beahm, accompanists. Highlight of the event was the presentation of a beautiful birth day cake to the guest of honor.
