The 4 p.m. rites were celebrated In St. Mary's Catholic Church, Whittier, where the young couple Rainbow Mothers Club The Rainbow Mothers Club met t the home of Mrs. Paul Tanner Tuesday evening, June 29. Plans were discussed for the Rainbow for Girls' swimming party and picnic to be held at Malin. At that time the Klamath Falls girls will meet those from Maun and Tulelake assemblies. A business meeting was con ducted by the chairman, Mrs. Fred ' Williams. A report was given on the May meeting at the home of Mrs. Elmer Wade; and at that time the group voted to purchase a punch bowl for the girls of the Klamath Falls Rainbow Assem bly. This was given to the girls at the last installation; presenta tion being made by Mrs. William Steiner. - Mrs. D. Wicks reported on the Grand Assembly of the Order of Rainbow tor Girls in Baker on June 24 to 27. Eleven girls at tended from Klamath Falls, ac companied by Mrs. V. H. Bar leen, mother adviser; Lawrence French, Mrs. N. Cobo and Mrs D. Wicks. Mrs. Williams invited all the Rainbow mothers and their fam ilies to a potluck supper at her home the latter part of July. At the close of the evening, re freshments were served by the hostess, Mrs. Tanner. Sunday Dinner LANGELL VALLEY Mr. end Mrs. Homer Roberts, entertained with a Sunday dinner at their home in Langell Valley, June 27, In honor of their grandson Francis Robertsof Henley who is leaving soon for U.S. Navy boot camp at Sin Diego; and their granddaugh ter Mrs. Tom McAullffe, husband and little daughter Jody who are here visiting from Washing tan. Tom Is stationed at Fort Lewis. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Roberts and Sandra, Francis' parents and sltr; Jerry Arant, Klamath Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Howrey Roberts, Ttmmy and Joan, Malln; Mr. 'and Mrs. Claude Brown, Billy, Benny and Jimmy; and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bchmoe, II of Langell Valley and the host' and hostess. v. v) f'tf ' ' V X vt ' vV I Were graduated earlier last month from Whittier College. The bride was president of the Associated Women Students and the Metaphonian Society. She was winner of the outstanding student award at graduation and both young people were listed in "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities." In addition he was president of the Lancer 8ociety ana graauated with highest honors. The bride was given In marriage by her father. Her gown of cban ttlly lace and nylon pleated tulle was designed with a chapel train. A chantlUy lace bonnet, trimmed with seed pearls, held her illusion net veil. She carried a lace covered Job's Daughters Bible on which lay a white orchid with a shower of stephanotis cascading from it. Lynette Kohn was maid of honor for her sister. She wore a gown of aqua lace and nylon net over taffeta. The bodice was of lace with a matching lace bolero and the full length skirt swept the floor. She wore a matching net head piece. The other bride's attendants, Mrs Shirley Pope, Santa Ana, and Joan Reece, Long Beach, were dressed in the same fashion as the maid ot honor. All three carried colonial bouquets of pink roses and white delphinium. Best man was Steve Bartlett, Burbank; ushers were Jim Frits and Bob Leverman, Whittier. Follwing the ceremony, the bride's mother received in a rose grey brocaded taffeta gown with pink accessories and a corsage of ink roses. The bridegroom's mother wore a mauve rose dress designed with a velvet top and full net skirt appllqued with velvet. The pink and white theme was carried out in the church and at the reception with white gladioli, pink asters and triple candelabras with pink candles. The cake and punch tables were covered with lace over pink. Hostesses were Mrs. Emmett Bloom and Mrs. Ray Baumann, San Luis Obispo, and Lee Combs was pianist. Assisting at the reception were Marty Whitney, Beverly Tenter, Peggy Hayes, Beverly Butler, Florence Tetsloff and Larry Reed. ror travel Mrs, Pierno wore a while handloomed suit with match ing stole, a while hat and beige bag and shoes and the orchid from her wedding. Following a honeymoon trip to Big Sur, the couple are at home at 10027!4 Oval Drive, Whittier, where the bridegroom will be em ployed in the college administra tion office until he goes into the armed forces. He plans to con tinue his education at Harvard Law School. His young wife will teach the sixth grade at West Whit tier School this fall. Navy Couple Wed In Yuma Mrs. Lucile Laakcy Binns (Mrs. Fred), 1713 Lexington, announces the marriage of her daughter, Min nie Jane, to Henry Jackson Brown, son of Mrs. Mary Mozclle Brown, Montgomery, Alabama, at Yuma, Arizona, June 19.. Jane is a graduate of KUHS and the Emanuel Hospital School of Nursing in Portland. She con tinued after graduation there until she was accepted in the Navy Nurse Corps. She returned home and was on the staff of a local hospital until she reported for duty in September, 1953. Brown is the son of Mary Mo selle Brown, . Montgomery, Ala bama. He has been in the Navy three years two of them spent overseas. , The new Mr. and Mrs. Brown are both stationed presently at the U.S. Naval Hospital, San Diego. Mrs. David Sutton, Sue Seaholm, Dona Clark and Sharon Zadina at the com munity Youth Center, The Thurs day evening affair had all Its en tertainment carried out on a clev er and hilarious bride and bride groom theme. Or. Lemire attended Seattle University and is a graduate of the University of Oregon Dental School where he was af filiated with Delta Sigma Delta. He is now practicing in For est Grove.
