Ml A lsst- minute postponement was an. nounced today In a strike scheduled against the seven lavish hotel' casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. Ernest J. Leupp. business agent for the AFL International Union of Operating Engineers, said the group had acceded to a request by the AFL Central Labor Council that the strike set to start this morning be put oft until Friday. Leupp said he hoped negotiations would continue. The gentral Labor uouncu president, Kaiph Leigon, said that if the 80 operating en gineers strike, the 3,200 other AFL hotel employes will observe picket lines. Leupp said present pay scales tor the engineers average 12.30 an hour, and the union is asking a 10 per cent boost plus a health and weuare program. Roy Flippln, representing the luxury hotels, said this would mean an increase of 15 per cent and the hotels will shut down if picket lines are established.
