II, won the OTI icholarship awarded by the Junior Chamber of Com merce or tuition and all fees for college entrance next fall. Claudia, graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, high tchool this spring, was 4th highest in grade points in her class. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. "Jim" Ehreth. There were 28 applications for the scholarship, first to be awarded to OTI by a Klamath Falls organization. The Jaycees hope to make the scholarship an annual award. Rogue Valley end Klamath Falls chapters of the Oregon Association of Public Accountants are again sponsoring a Southern Oregon and Northern California Tax Conference. Dates will be October 28 and at the Southern Oregon College, Ashland. Plane for th meetintr were made at the Tax Conference Committee meeting last Thursday at Harold's Restaurant. Chairman is Fredric Lawson, 424 Main. Klamath Falls. Also on the committee are R. A. Brewer, Medford; R. D. Benja mine. Grants Pass, and E. O. Som mer, Ashland. The committee Is arranging to have various tax experts from the coast. The afternoon of the second day will be devoted to a forum with all speakers available for questions and answers. New Damage Suit Faces Crosbys SAN JOSE, Calif. I Another damage suit, filed against Bing Crosby and his son Gary yester day, brings to a total of 1155.000 claims arising from an automobile accident of May 24th Involving the famed singer's son. Carlos Alvernaz asked 115,000 for Injuries he said he received in the accident. Felix Olvares. 24. a Mex ican national, was killed In the collision. County officials have filed no charges. They said neither driver appeared to be at fault. Plantinq Units Used To Spread Game Fish . To accomplish the tremendous Job of releasing the annual pro duction of trout and salmon which Is in the neighborhood of 500.000 pounds, the Oregon State Game Commission now has 20 Individual planting units in operation. These range from small portable tanks ot 150-gallon capacity to the large permanently mounted units ot 800 gallon capacity. The small units are used at sev eral hatcheries where releases are made within a relatively short dis tance of the station. The large units operate on a state-wide basis frequently making round-trip runs of several hundred miles. The game commission is experi menting' with several different types of water aeration and circu lation equipment in an endeavor to determine which is the most satis factory. Air scoops, venturt, and multiple venturi systems, overhead spray, and underwater outlets are all being tried either singly or in combination. It all adds up to the fact that it takes a whale of a lot of rolling stock to carry out the state-wide planting program necessary to meet present day angling demands.
