' teaspoon cream of tartar
1 package instant choco
late pudding
Pinch of salt
cup sugar
Beat the egg whites until stiff.
Gradually add cream of tartar.
salt and sugar, beating until stiff
and satiny. Spread about t'o-thirds
oi meringue over bottom and sides
of well-greased 8-inch pie plate.
Drop remaining meringue by tea
spoonfuls around rim of plate.
Bake at 275 degrees (slow oven)
one hour or until meringue Is light
brown and crisp. Cool on wire
rack, away from drafts. Prepare
Royal Instant Chocolate Pudding,
following directions on package.

their home after spending two
weeks in Malin.
Malta Cub Scouts of pack 33 and
their leaders participated in the
Boy Scout Circus held in Klamath
Falls, May 15, at Modoc Field. Ma
li Cubs part in the Modoc War
enactment was a portrayal of Jack
and his renegade band. Each boy
was dressed as an Indian and Don
nie stastny was chosen as Captain
Jack. Malin pack was also respon
sible for building a replica of Cap
tain Jack s Stronghold in the Lava
Beds. Large cardboards on frames
were painted to resemble rocks and
trees and shrubs were mounted on
stands. Around ninety per cent of
the proceeds from ticket sales sold
by the Malin pack, will go in their
treasury.
