Aided By Gifts From Chiloquin CHILOQUtN The heart warm ing story of 120 Korean orphans, who have been helped by local people through gifts of clothing, has come In the form of a letter from Cant. Phil W. OeLano. a Jet pilot In Korea from Oakland, and a brother of Mrs, Paul Herron, Chiloquin. Mrs. Herron told a few months ago of a small orphnnnge her brother and Ills squadron were sponsoring. He asked that his sis ter spread the story and gel folks to donate clothing to send to Mm. He in turn gave the packages to his chaplain and they were turned over to the nine elderly Korean people who aro running the ram shackle buildings housing 120 little homeless youngsters. Capt. DeLano writes that the children are living in conditions unimaginable to us In Oregon, that even many of the baslo necessi ties are missing. The leaders are trying desperately to build the place into a self-sustaining unit and to that end have obtained a small pear orchard and a few small animals. The percentage of severely light greened Oreen Mountain potatoes at the end of the period was re corded as: 38.1 per cent tor tied lop polyethelene; 29.7 per cent for elastlo top poleyetheleue; 19.7 per cent lor paper mesh with paper band: 4.5 per cent for kraft with mesh window, and no severe green ing for kralt paper.
