Man Killed In Auto Crash

Lewis was a musician at a tavern
south of Dunsmuir on Highway 89,
Judge's, where he had been em
ployed for 16 to 18 months. Harold
Kitchey, 23, was driving the Lewis
car enroute to his home in Weed
when the accident occured.
The car had traveled only a short

Lewis was taken to Yreka' Hos
pital for treatment where he died
of Internal injuries less than 24
hours later. He never completely
regained consciousness.
The deceased was a . native of
Clnckasha, Oklahoma, and (ad
been a resident of Dunsmuir for
two years.
He Is survived by his widow,
Cordelia; three daughters, Carolyn,
8, Colleen, 6 and Kathy, 7 months;
his parents who had arrived Friday
for a visit from their home in Earl
lmart, California;, three sisters,
Mrs. Pearl Thomas of Castella,
Mrs, Goldie Vannler of Mt. Shasta
and Mrs. Rena Akins of Tulare; one
brother, F. J. Lewis of Castella.
The body was taken to Noble's
Chapel in Mt. Shasta. Funeral ar
rangements will be announced. .

Alice Johnson gave a discourse on
"The Church and the Community."
At the close of the meeting, hos

Crater Skiing
Reported Good
Skiing is good at Crater Lake
National Park, according to a re
port this morning from the
ranger station. Twenty - seven
skiers came to the park Sunday.
Total snow on the ground today
was 126 Inches, 39 inches less than
on this date last year.
Highway 62 Is open to the rim,
The roads are icy in spots but
chains are not required.
Weekend travel brought 87 cars
to the park with a total of 330
